Both 7th Region semi-finals decided in the last (including extra) inning by one run. Those in attendance must have gotten their money's worth. Hopefully, it will be a humdinger between Ballard and Trinity for the championship.

McCormick pitched the first 7 innings for St. X., and then Amlung came on to relieve him. I'm not of the Ballard pitcher's name, but he seemed to just get stronger as the game went on.

Tough loss for the Tigers, but congrats on a great season under Coach Jefferson. Good luck to Brian Erie and Damon McCormick at the next level-they will be sorely missed but the Tigers should be strong again next year. I thought they had Deatheridge over a barrel mid-game, but he definitely settled down and turned it on. Furthermore, his bat did most of the damage as well-Solid ballplayer.

What a loaded question. Aaron has some very good qualities about himself, but to be called best player...hmm. It will be interesting to see how his arm feels tonight in the regional championship.

He won't be pitching tonight. Last night it felt good enough. I'm not sure about who the best player in the seventh region is, I haven't seen them all, but Aaron is a great clutch player. You could see what the St X coaching staff thought of him when they didn't hesitate to put him on an open first base rather than pitch to him. That decision made it possible to walk in the winning run. By the way, I absolutely agreed with their decision. If they had pitched to him I am convinced that Ballard would have carried a two run lead into the bottom of the ninth.

Congratulations to both teams and a hard fought game. Coach Jefferson really got this team ready by tournament time.
