What a game. Rocks go down 6-0 in the top of the first inning but make a game of it to push it all the way to ten innings.

 

Plain and simple, the Rocks had the opportunity to win the game in four consecutive innings but couldn't capitalize on the chances given to them. Ballard, on the other hand, when the chance finally came, took hold of it and made the final hit... a grand slam in the top of the tenth. That's baseball for you.

 

Good season, Rocks.

who hit the bomb? was it Deatheridge?

No Trinity's pitchers actually did a pretty good job on Dethrage. In the nightmare of a 1st he reached on an error and his only other time on base was an intentional walk in the 10th. He was one of the runs that scored. I'm don't know who hit the homer.

Greg Glasscock hit the bomb. His at bat before the HR, he hit it over the left field fence, but was foul. Not sure why the T coaches took Shack out in the first inning, if his fielders were playing smarter, Ballard wouldn't scored 6 runs. Then they bring Cecil on the mound who chances it up, but he's only good for a few innings. Then they brought Roney in, who had his right thumb wrapped up for the last two games, he couldn't even throw a curve, but he did pretty well keeping Ballard at bay, except for the 10th inning. I was surprise he wasn't taken off the mound, but that's why the coaches get paid the big money.

 

As for Ballard, Taylor Bugh and Chris Bloch, both juniors pitched a gutsy game. They won the game in my opinion. Coach Greg Gilbert, former Rock coach did an excellent job. Good luck Ballard..........

How is this for balance in 7th Region? Ballard wins semi over St. X by one run in 9 innings. Trinity beats CAL in other semi by one run by scoring in bottom of 7th. And then B beats T in 10 on a grand slam. Good luck to Ballard against PRP.

Yes, the 7th is very competitive. CAL surprised a lot of people with wins late over Male and Eastern while almost beating Trinity. Then you have Male, Eastern, St. X, Trinity, and Ballard. Seneca has been competitive at times.

Congratulations to the Bruins. Beating X & T back to back is not an easy task. Good luck against PRP.
