Good win for the Frosh Breds. It's always good to beat BBHS if you're NCC. -
Prayers going out here, for a great man. Best of luck Coach.

Great Blog from Ernst about Bellevue and Ricky Buckler
BredFan replied to southpawace's topic in KY Football (High School)
Ricky Buckler is one of the finest kids you will ever meet. I enjoyed watching him play throughout the years, and was sad to see it end Friday. He's had an impressive career, that he will be very proud of for the rest of his life. Congrats to him, and his family. -

Because Freshman are restricted by the KHSAA. You can play 23 regular season games, and two tournaments. -

NKY Frosh Basketball Chatter
BredFan replied to Qryche11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I'm pretty sure he stepped down, and is not coaching High School around here. He may be doing some Middle School, but I really don't know. Ryan Bowman is their new coach. -

I agree that they have a fantastic freshman class, but do you think all of the freshman will stay down? Not to hurt feelings, but I can see Coach Sullivan cutting some sophomores to move up freshman. Thoughts? -
Beechwood 21 Newport Central Catholic 6 (Frosh)
BredFan replied to lionsdirector's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think he meant Brady Thacker, and Dylan Hayes. If Collopy is up, I haven't heard that. -

Eric is at Scott. Bert is at Dixie, and is a freshman as well. -
It was cancelled.

Ryle/Campbell County Predictions
BredFan replied to cooperstown's topic in KY Football (High School)
I'm not a big fan of him either. No offense, but it's to obnoxious. However, if he fires up the Camels, and Camel faithful, then he's done his job. -
I'm sure it was. You have to overcome the adversity though. Good teams don't whine, or make excuses.

Congrats to Ludlow on the win. Coach Hornsby is a class act!!! I really enjoy seeing them do well. Doesn't get easier for the Mustangs, as Bellevue has a nice team. Could be the start of a long stretch for BBHS.

Impressive score, freshman or not. Cooper must really have a great group of kids, congrats to them.

Technically, or not technically, Newport won the game they should have won. I have a feeling Coach Rice has preached for them to "win the games they're supposed to win." Newport is on the rebound kids, and I like it. Can they beat Newcath and Holy Cross? Probably not both, but I'd say they'll give them a great game. Nick will have these boys where they need to be every year. I love his fire, his attitude, and his commitment for discipline. Best of luck to the Cats and the Devils the rest of the year. Dayton will get their win soon.

Maybe I am confused, but which poll has them ranked 12? State poll? I don't recall seeing them in the NKY coaches poll, but I didn't look very hard.

Prayers for the Fort Campbell Football family
BredFan replied to The Scribe's topic in KY Football (High School)
My deepest sympathies. You are all in my thoughts. -
I don't want to knock Coach Hornsby at all, but Class A in NKY is pretty darn tough. Why would I want to drop GC, Scott and Lloyd, who may be difficult to beat, but will surely make the team better? Bracken, WV and Taylor will do absolutely nothing in helping Ludlow prepare for the playoffs, or even NKY Class A for that matter. Is is all about winning games? Does Ludlow see three wins out there, and pounce on them? I really like Coach H, and was very vocal about that last season, but IMO I wish he would have kept the harder teams and used those games to get ready for Bellevue, Beechwood and Dayton. Best of luck to the Panthers this season!!

Congrats Coach!

Does anyone else think that Daniel Lokesak is a better outfielder than Cotton/Nutini/Hiller? From what I have seen, he has better speed in the field and on the bases than any of these three; has a better arm; and is better at the plate. I understand this isn't a thread for the D-1 all stars, but it has been talked about. Sounds to me like Cotton was touted a little to high by his coach. Congrats to all who were selected to the Divisional All Star teams.

West Jessamine hires Damon Kelley
BredFan replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congrats to Damon! Great news for him and his family! Best of luck. -
Congrats to Harrison County! I really enjoyed their energy and how excited they were from start to finish. Their bench was very explosive in support of their team, as the Scott bench was much more mellow. I think that is a sign of knowing what it takes to win, and being excited when you see it happening. What a great year for Scott! Congrats to the seniors for being a part of a special time in Scott baseball. I'm sure Coach Roberts couldn't be prouder! As for the game, both pitchers were great last night! How could you fault either of them for their mistakes after the battled their hearts out. Sadly, the ball always finds the weak link when it matters and Scott's second basemen hurt them more than he helped. I feel for him, but it wasn't his night. I thought Scott would break through in the 4th, with runners on 1st and 2nd with zero outs, but a Smith strike out, followed by a force at second (I believe) doomed their chances. Why not bunt them over? Osborne's homer was great and really energized the Scott team. I wish it could have put them over the top, but HC is a fantastic team and has an amazing program. The best of luck to the Breds this week!
