  1. Simon Kenton vs Boone County - 3:00 p.m. Scott vs Conner - 4:30 p.m. Highlands vs Holmes - 6:00 p.m. Covington Catholic vs Cooper - 7:30 p.m.
  2. Simon Kenton will play Beechwood @ Beechwood, today at 5:15. Ryle will play Boone @ Boone tomorrow at 6:00. These games will complete the first round games for the NKAC Tournament.
  3. I didn't see Engelmon get into the game, maybe that has to do with his .09 seconds of PT! In fact, he sat on the bench the whole game, with his ipod headset in his ear. Unbelievable. Meiman plays JV, no freshman.
  4. Well, I will disagree with you on the first part of your post. I don't know if they were bored, but more out-competed, if that's even a saying. St. Henry was really getting after it, and basically did to Holmes in the first half, what Holmes did to St. Henry in the second half. I'd say TOG's stat of a 21-5 3rd quarter shows they were ready to out-compete the Cru. Jim Goetz is as fine a coach as there is, but when Holmes plays happy, you can probably chalk that up as a victory. Now, Highlands/Holmes is an interesting matchup. I would never say who I think will win, but it should be a really good game. Best of luck to both.
  5. CovCath vs Cooper at 3:00. Scott vs Conner at 4:30. Highlands vs St. Henry/Holmes at 6:00. SK/Beechwood vs Boone/Ryle at 7:30.
  6. FYI, Boone and Ryle will not be played tonight. Boone County's board office nixed their participating in any activities due to the weather. So, St. Henry and Holmes will be the only game played.
  7. ESPN has Super Tuesday, and the 10th Region has Marathon Sunday! Should be a dandy. Best of luck to all teams.
  8. I'm shocked!!! This thread needs a facebook page.
  9. Congrats to Coach Meyer, Coach Gray, and the NCC freshman team on a fine season. It's been a tough few weeks for them, with all the injuries they've sustained in their roster, but they never used that as an excuse and played with maximum effort to the end. Also, congrats to Coach Sorrell, Coach Murphy, and the CovCath freshman on the win.
  10. I don't think anyone will question the athleticism in that boys bloodline. Brandon is a worker, and will "work hard". I've not seen him play basketball, but have heard he is pretty good.
  11. Brandon Hergott is flat out good. If I were a betting man, I'd say he'll have an outstanding career as a Blue Bird. He's also a super kid on top of all his athletic abilities.
  12. Scott defeated Brossart 41-30 in OT to win the 37th, per bmustangs.com.
  13. First of all, Congrats to Eddie! I think he will make a fine Head Coach. Secondly, I may not have an idea of what's going to happen, but I would think he'd try to retain the staff that has been in place, but that's up to him. I liked the phrase, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," and I completely agree with you. However, he has to make the Newcath job his own, and he will. Eddie is a leader, a role model, and a winner...and nothing will change that. The very, very, very best of luck to him, his team, and his staff this season and for many seasons to come.
  14. I think Scott and SK will always be included in the freshman tournament, reguardless of their region. I think it's more the fact that they're a NKY team that plays all of the NKY schools. They're still in the NKAC conference as well. Kind of hard to exclude them.
  15. Should be a great game! I agree with everything you said in your post, but Geoffery Johnson (sp?) is an outstanding basketball player and plays as hard as anyone in the area. Highlands size will be tough for SK to handle, but SK's team speed should keep this one interesting. Best of luck to both.
  16. Scott and Simon both play in the tournament. They've always been included, even though they're out of region. I believe it's now considered the NKAC Freshman Tournament. So all Division 1 and 2 schools, minus Campbell and Brossart, play in it.
  17. I would probably agree. They still have to play Scott and Boone Co. before the tournament begins.
  18. Boone has won the last two. CovCath won the year before that, and Ryle won the year before that. This year's tournament should be a dandy. It all depends on the draw...as usual.
  19. I can see why he gets the task of guarding the best scorer for opposing teams. The kid sure plays hard and gets after it.
  20. Steve Sorrell is one of the finest people around, both as a man, and as a basketball coach. No doubt he'd have his team ready.
  21. Congrats to Brady Jolly. A great kid, and a hard worker. I wish him the best of luck.
