The Birds once again jump out in front in the 1st qtr by 7 with a tough man-man defense. Then the refs started calling fouls with 2 Bird starters getting 2 quick ones. Donovan McCoy and Nick True sat most of the first half. Birds were up 19-17 and the ball coming out at the half. Scott dominated the 3rd qtr playing with a little more tempo, pushing the ball up the court and attacking. Nick Jackson #23 their big man had a fantastic qtr scoring 8 of his game high 14 points in the qtr. The Eagles got up by as much as 5 in the 4th qtr but the Birds made a nice run and tied it at 34. A blown wide open layup by Highlands led to an Eagle bust out and easy basket, huge turnaround and probably the biggest play in the game. The Eagles basically outscored the Birds 8-1 to finish the game. Jackson nailed 4 of his FT in the last minute to ice it. He was clearly their best player.

Highlands once again hurt by lack of depth. They played man-man 90% of the game and they were aggressive but it got them in foul trouble. 28 fouls called in the game and 17 called against the Birds.

Scott played man-man the entire game as well and pressed. They played 10 kids and there was no dropoff when they subbed in.

Scott converted 14/20 FT's for 70%.

Highlands only converted 10/15 FT's for 67%.

Nice bounce back win for Eagles after buzzer beating loss the night before. Highlands has to finish games but very tough when the starters are having to play 21 of the 24 minutes most games.

Sounds like a good game. Did Pouncey play for Scott? Didn't see him listed in the box score.

Pouncy played... More of a defensive game for him... He normally gets the task of guarding the best scorer for the other team. He can score when they need him to.

I can see why he gets the task of guarding the best scorer for opposing teams. The kid sure plays hard and gets after it.

Pouncy didn't reallt get any good looks and did play solid defense. It was a very physical game with a lot of fouls called and many that weren't called.

I thought the Best #4 kid was impressive as far as size and athleticism. He has to play football.

Does Scott play Brossart or Campbell to get to the region? I know they blew out Campbell a while back and split with Brossart.

No football, he is a baseball stud.

He played JV as an 8th grader as did Ohmer.

He will be playing for the Kentucky Colonels this coming summer.
