Not a bad showing for NCC playing without 6'3 Nate Grosser and Josh Cain their PF who plays hard. CovCath's Tobler probably had a field day with his size in the paint against the smaller Breds.

Congrats to Coach Meyer, Coach Gray, and the NCC freshman team on a fine season. It's been a tough few weeks for them, with all the injuries they've sustained in their roster, but they never used that as an excuse and played with maximum effort to the end.

 

Also, congrats to Coach Sorrell, Coach Murphy, and the CovCath freshman on the win.

Was it because they weren't fouled or something to do with the officiating?

It's tough to win a ballgame when you don't score in the 1st quarter.

But they were only down by 6. Not to difficult to overcome.

Not really, CovCath had 11/PF NCC had 10/PF. Most of CovCath FT were on fouls under the basketball while shooting, while NC was fouled during the CovCath press. Think about when you said about missing Gosser and Cain and then think what you would be doing, if you were coaching against them.

It could never be the officiation at Cov Cath. Not possible.

TOG yes I'm sure the CovCath gameplan was to pound it inside. I guess my statement came across as if to say the Breds were getting homered but it really wasn't. I was just amazed they only got to the line for 2 Free throws. Bueter normally does a ton of driving abd drawing fouls so it was baffling. Sounda to me like the referees really didn't have to blow it much as opposed to the Conner/Dixie game where almost 50 Ft attempts were given.

 

Congrats to the Colonels. I heard that Toblin and Murphy really looked good.

Special thanks to the Cov. Cath. internet broadcast team. The coverage is great and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much at a basketball broadcast. :clap: Very entertaining.

Talked to a NewCath fan. They said the game was very well officiated. The reason NCC didnt shoot many ft's was because they had to settle for outside shots. Shot a ton of 3's. With all their injuries they didnt have an inside game. Colonels outrebounded them by approximately 20. They knew they would have had to shoot the ball really well to beat CovCath. Congratulations to the Breds on a great year and good luck to the Colonels.

That is kind of what I figured. They only had Seibert working in the post with any size. Beuter and Devoto are very good 3 point shooters and Dupont can catch fire at times also. Keeping this to 7 points was pretty solid IMO.
