The Scribe Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) Tim Williams, a junior lineman on the Fort Campbell football team, collapsed after practice Tuesday and died today in Nashville, where he was hospitalized. STORY LINK Tim's father Bill was stationed in Afghanistan for most of last season, although he did get to see Tim play a couple of games when he was in on leave. I got to meet Bill before one of those games. I can say I have not met many fathers who were more proud of the accomplishments of their son than Bill was. Anyone who reads the football forum knows this and knows Bill was looking forward to seeing his son play his senior season after returning home recently from Afghanistan. The uncertianty of death is something that always shadows military families during a time of war/deployment. Players at Fort Campbell and Fort Knox know this and live this daily. All-State linebacker Josh Carter lost his father last summer in a helicopter crash. A former player was killed in action early last year. However, you don't expect this uncertianty to strike the children of soldiers. The Fort Campbell football family is just that...family. From the coaches to the parents, managers, cheerleaders, administrators, etc. Our prayers go out to the Williams family and the Fort Campbell football family. Bill, may God be with all of you and your family. Edited July 30, 2009 by The Scribe

gold sunrise Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Tragic news. From Clark Co this is my prayer for all those that knew and loved him. Lord, whose ways are beyond understanding, listen to the prayers of your faithful people: that those weighed down by grief at the loss of this young man may we find reassurance in your infinite goodness. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

My heart and prayers go out to the Williams family along with the entire Fort Cambell football family, school and community. I could not even imagine the pain of losing a child and I hurt for the entire community. Again.....prayers go out and will continue to go out from the Rambler's family along with the Raceland-Worthington High School family and community. Dear Lord, We don't know or understand why some things happen but we know that you do and you have a plan. I just pray for the Williams family, may your wonderful comfort and grace be with this family along with the entire Fort Campbell football family, school and community. May all look to you Lord during this terrible time of tragedy and grief. I ask this in Jesus name.............Amen Edited July 30, 2009 by oldrambler
