State Tournament Officials!
swamp thang replied to kats72's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I've been to lots of sweet 16 games and I can't recall any previous tourney in which so much physical play was allowed. It seemed like "if there were no bones stickin' out or blood lettingit was a no call" just my observation -
Is Cosby right or is Wright right?
swamp thang replied to leatherneck's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
I'm not attempting to be argumentative here, but I hear statements like this all of the time. Is there any documentation or is it just an urban myth. I know form my many years ofr workplace experience in healthcare I have never found this type of statistic to be valid -

LexCath 80 Scott County 54 - 11th region semis!
swamp thang replied to Your Daddy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I don't think that I've ever been to a LexCath/Scott County game in which Billy did NOT get a technical. What really hurt, in my opinion, were the technicals on the Scott County players. Was it just emothion or were they just immulating their mentor? -
I see Ace Ventura

I think he wes posting the winner of each game: BS,LC,MC and SC winners of round 1, BS and MC winners of round 2 then BS winner overall.
-
How would the seeding be determined? In other words, what makes Model a 4 seed instead of Western Hills being a 4 seed? Is their overall record against regional opponents? Just curious since the 11th is not seeded but I understand other regionals are.

I guess BCG is sorry he canned Dusty Mills, now

Am I mistaken but didn't UofL ask that the bb game be moved and UK went along? If that's true then obviously, some folks are mistaken when they think that Barhardt is never willing to compromise Again, I'm not sure of the bb circumstance but that's how I remember the move from December happening

I suppose it's only to get into U of L's heads

Should Sampson be able to coach College bball again?

Even if he don't coach again, he can make a good living as a spokewsman for Cingular, ATT, Verizon, etc. -
UK Walk-on Dusty Mills kicked off team
swamp thang replied to PhiSlamaJama's topic in College Basketball
Well, after all, he is only a freshman, so I guess he has every right to be immature. Still no excuse to berate him in this manner -

Many on here obviously feel a lot of bling support for Gilispie. You've automatically surmised that he was justified in demeaning this young man. you have Dusty's account of the incident and even though Clyde hasn't seen fit to demean himself by speaking of the incident to the peons, you still take his side. Excuse me but this is the same garbage we heard from Bobby Knight fans for years. As far as the statements that it's Ok since he was "just a walk-on", I guess the golden rule has no place in coaching -
Has John Clay written a positive article this year?
swamp thang replied to pigman's topic in College Basketball
I hate to sound like a voice crying in the wilderness, but I must respectfully disagree. I re-read Monday's column again and found absolutely nothing negative about it. The premise of the column was that BCG is "different" in his coaching style and proceeded to give examples of such difference. He even made the point of saying that it wasn't good or bad just different. In my opinion, even the most ardent BCG backers will have to admit that some of his decisions defy any logic (if compared to other coaches) -
Mason County 90 Elliott County 61
swamp thang replied to thewalrus's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If Mason County had an emrollment 50 students smaller than Elliott County's but their student body included the 15 or so players that are on their team right now, I predict that they would beat Elliott County by about 29 points. Just going out on a limb here -
How much did the Vandy game hurt your faith in Billy G?

Agreement reached on stimulus package.
swamp thang replied to woodsrider's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
Perhaps, if the terminology were different, people would not be offended by "non-tax paying" citizens being included in the stimulus package. By calling it a rebate the implication is that money is being returned. Just call it what it: "stimulus package monetary expenditure designed to promote realization of your I want it now fantasy" -
