A couple of foul shots and a run-out set the final margin.

 

I am so proud of these girls. 4 games in 3 days with only 6 players playing significant minutes. Wow. You have so much to be proud. Have a safe trip home.

Wow what a week personally. Got to see the Russell f'ball boys get their championship rings last night, and listened to the 16th region champion and state runner-up Rose Hill Royal girls give Lex. Christian all they wanted tonight.

Congratulations to the LexCath girls on their second championship in a row. Remember, three's a charm!

In my previous post I forgot to congratulate Lexington Catholic on their Championship. Congratulations to a great team and program? How many seniors do they lose?

Congratulations to the Lady Knights, they proved that they are the best team in the state of Kentucky and one of the best teams in the country. Congratulations also go out to Rose Hill who gave LexCath everything they could handle and, by far, their biggest challenge at the State tournament. As everyone has pointed out, Rose Hill is playing with, essentially, no bench and their motor (Kala Faulkner) was playing with a bad wheel. They played a great tournament and were a great source of pride not only for the 16th Region, but for every small school in the state. I'm very proud of you girls you conducted yourselves with class, hold your heads high!

LexCath and Rose Hill?? Great years by both schools, BUT something very fishy about this final game. I got a funny feeling that the days are numbered for two "private" schools to play for the big trophy. Sure, two great teams but you can't tell me that it is fair for two private schools to get this far while the rest of us play by different rules and teams like this can do what ever they want. Just my opinion but I bet I'm not alone in this statement!!! Congrats LC and RH!!

great year lady Royals; must of you all have no ideal how bad kayla faulkers thigh bruise actaully is. It was a very bad injury, any other player would have taken several weeks off.. Hats off to Kayla and Rose hill
