I just got home from one of the most enjoyable weekends I have had in a long time. I just want to say thank you to the Rose Hill girls and coaches for providing me with 3 fun filled days and for being so good to my children.

 

Also, a big congratulations to Pam Euton, her husband Clay, and Mr. and Mrs. Rob Queen on the birth of their grandson this evening. I guess this caps off a dream weekend for both families. :thumb:

First, congrats to Rose Hill and Lex Cath for their great accomplishments. RH enjoy this great Cinderella run. LC congrats on the great string you are on. Both schools keep up the good hard work.

We will ever see a public school with only 80some students make it to the state championship game?

 

Or a public school that most of their players are not from the county that the school is located in, make it to the state championship game?

I would think the answer to both questions would be no.

Depends, will schools in Lexington that are Public mean that athletes coming from them to Catholic (w/o playing high school sports in middle school) cause a person loss of a year eligibility?

Excellent job Lady Royals. Great run for the 16th region.

Doubt the school can handle enough student growth to be deemed 4A. They have added on some to the school building in the past ten years, but not enough for the school to grow to a 4A level and if you have ever seen the school area, there isn't any room for growth unless they want to tack on another floor. But yeah, they are about 855, my senior class graduated 200 students I believe and the classes have steadily grown since to 210 or 220.

 

Are you trying to say that if there were enough students that wanted to come to Catholic that the school would refuse them because the school werent big enough.

As a Rose Hill partisan, I want to congratulate Lexington Catholic. First, I congratulate you for winning another championship. Next, I want to congratulate you for carrying the burden as the overwhelming favorite all year and proving that the designation was truly justified. Other than Scott County, no team in Kentucky remotely approached LexCath. Third, I want to congratulate you for setting a high standard for others to attempt to duplicate. Rather than whining about what amount to trasnsparent excuses for their inferiority on the basketball court, the other schools should try to achieve the level of excellence reached and maintained by the Lady Knights.

Finally, I wish you the best as you look ahead for what may very well be your third consecutive state championship. With Novosel, Green, Stephenson, and the others a four-peat is quite possible.

 

There have been a lot of sour grape posts about LexCath in this thread and throughout the season. I am pleased that no one from Rose Hill has made such posts. Our girls lost to the best. We make no excuses. We know we must work harder. Maybe the rest of you should do the same rather than looking to KHSAA for some welfare assistance to help you compete.
