I agree! Congrats on the post season success!!:thumb:

Congrats to Rose Hill. 16th region has a state champioship and a state finals berth in the last 6 years along with a win by East Carter in the first round a couple of years ago. The 16th has been represented very well in the millenium. Laura Terry has been on one of the hottest two to three week streaks of anybody in the last 10 years. Emily Queen's work ethic resulted in her averaging a double/double, an amazing performance, and Kayla Faulkner did the little things that made sure her team either won or, in the case of the Lex Cath game, kept it close. Congrats again.

Correct. Thats why I was confused about one of the quotes by the Royals coach about wanting to have a good showing as the 16th rep "for a change" [i don't have the exact quote handy, but that was the basic jist of it]. Perhaps she was taken out of context. And no this is not an attack at any school or its fans.

Uh, thats cute of you to paint yourself as "nice" but it would probably be more truthful to just acknowledge you are simply complying with the law by paying taxes, which is helpful in keeping one out of the pokey.

Since most everyone I know also does this I guess that means we're all nice :thumb:

I didn't mean anything. Just wondered how they were 12-12 last year. By the way I looked it up after I posted. I didn't notice any where in my post that I mentioned recruiting:confused: . Thanks for calling me ignorant. Need a hug...:D Also wondered why couldn't the girls compete at Russell?(sorry for the ignorance again).

:fight:

Ending a post with the fighting emoticon typically signifies that you are looking for a fight which is what I assumed you were doing. That was a mistake on my part most likely from the onslaught of posts in the last two-three years yelling recruiting this and recruiting that. The absence of knowledge is ignorance and that is a simple definition and not a statement of someones intelligence (I myself am completely ignorant of Lex Cath's program so I can say nothing about their tactics). As for them not competing at Russell, that was a self-imposed condition due to a multitude of reasons that I neither know nor need to know about. In the future, I would be careful with the emotioncons since they are often the only way to infer inflection on the cold emotionless computer.

I can't see why so many people take shots at Lexington Catholic, except for no other reason but jealousy. I susbscribe to the theory that "...a rising tide affects all boats" and when you have a program in Kentucky that is as well run and as good as LexCath it then forces the other programs to raise their level of play. That happended in the 16th Region when West Carter was dominating for a few years. Instead of whining all the time some of the programs actually looked at West and saw what Hop Brown and his staff were doing to win, then they applied some of those principles to their program. The next thing you know everyone was getting better.

Unless you are "ate up" with envy, I think everyone in the state ought to thank LexCath for raising the bar and helping to put girls basketball on the map. I'll bet the Louisville and UK's womens coachs are very happy to see the level of girls play in Kentucky get better, hopefully that well spill over to their programs.:thumb:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I honestly think that there is no real merit to the critisism of the sucessful programs around the state.

Congradulations coach todd and the lady knights on a great season and the state crown

Congratulations to Lexington Catholic on their championship. That being said, Rose Hill had one of the more inspiring tournament runs in recent history. I have never personally met any of Lexington Catholic's players and would not even begin to comment on them individually. But I have met and spoken with nearly all of Rose Hill's and can say that they are top-notch young ladies and deserving of these accolades. I know that many on this site have a different opinion on a couple of the players but I have seen a tremendous amount of maturation, particularly in one. Again congratulations to all the young ladies who participated in last night's championship.

Lexington Catholic is AAA, not A. Try doing some reserach next time. :sssh:

Nice slam!!! Didn't Lex Catholic play in the Class A until everyone complained about them winning every year and they were asked not to compete. Mason Co is a Class AAA and has about 850 students. Does Lex Catholic have that many??? If not what makes them a AAA???? Plus I believe the AAA refers to Football and I was referring to Basketball. In basketball, Lex Catholic is a small school who they will not let play Class A any more because the dominated it due to having the pick of the litter!!!!!!!!!

LC has grown to a AAA school. You can't compete up any more in football, it's totally by enrollment. The cut off for AAA was around 850. Don't know what it is now.

I imagine if it were that simple then there would be a football classification with just 2 Louisville schools in it.

I can appreciate supporters of their school but perhaps a little, or lot of fact checking would be advantageous before typing.

P.S. I'm not asking you to leave the forum, just offering a suggestion:thumb:

Congrats to Lexington Catholic on their back-to-back championships. It seems you all have worked hard to get where you are today.

As for the Lady Royals, I am SO proud of you all! At the beginning of the year, I would have never guessed that we would make it to the state championship game and give Lexington Catholic a run for their money. And yet, you surpassed everyone's expectations.

I'm especially proud of all three seniors! Each of you made a major impact in different games at Diddle! Katie's two threes against Shelby County sparked the Royals on to win. Sarah's two threes within 32 seconds against Franklin-Simpson put a dagger into the mounting F-S comeback. And Kala's 4th quarter against Iroquois pushed us into the finals! You all have definitely put your names down in Rose Hill basketball history.

I was so glad I could make it to most of the games in Bowling Green. You all made it a tournament to remember for the rest of your lives!

CONGRATS GIRLS!!! There were definitely two winners Saturday night in Diddle!

Lex Cath. is a 3A school and has been for a few years now. Catholic is no longer considered a small school and has an enrollment around 855. It probably wont be long before Lex Cath moves up to 4A. Catholic has an outstanding program

You are quite right, I find though that the Western Kentucky whining about Lexington Catholic is pretty annoying. Money team? What are you implying? That we have the money to build great facilities for all our sports programs? If that was the case, sorry our alumni and parents care so much about the school because they are the ones who fund most of that stuff. If you are implying we pay the tuition of our athlets, or even that we pay our athletes, than once again where is the proof? ONE PLAYER GOT FOUND RECIEVING FINANCIAL AID THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE ALLOTTED TO HIM. He was a male athlete who played baseball and football. He already had attended the school a year on his normal financial aid that is given to him by a third party not affiliated w/ the school who takes into consideration all factors that need to be assessed when distributing aid. Things for his family got worse and the school right or wrong gave a little more to help. They got caught, admitted it, move on. But even in that case, where is it suggested that any of the girls playing this week for the Lady Knights were involved in recieving unneccessary financial aid? The only arguement anyone has is that three of the five starters aren't from Lexington and two played high school ball in eighth grade for another school.

And still this annoys me because some people it seems want to take away from this team's accomplishments. These girls have been very devoted to the school and this girl's basketball team. Anaris Sickles and Nikki Davis have enjoyed two of the most successful careers of basketball ever enjoyed by a girl in this state. Natalie Novosel and Briana Green are now two for two on titles and have the talent w/ them the next two years to challenge again for a title. And that isn't even including the success of Rose Hill who enjoyed a great run in this tournament and really gave Lex Cath all they could handle. Rose Hill proved that they were one of the top teams this year and really deserve praise on their season.

And yeah, I was being cute, I know you pay taxes as well as the rest of us.

Doubt the school can handle enough student growth to be deemed 4A. They have added on some to the school building in the past ten years, but not enough for the school to grow to a 4A level and if you have ever seen the school area, there isn't any room for growth unless they want to tack on another floor. But yeah, they are about 855, my senior class graduated 200 students I believe and the classes have steadily grown since to 210 or 220.
