LexCath and Rose Hill?? Great years by both schools, BUT something very fishy about this final game. I got a funny feeling that the days are numbered for two "private" schools to play for the big trophy. Sure, two great teams but you can't tell me that it is fair for two private schools to get this far while the rest of us play by different rules and teams like this can do what ever they want. Just my opinion but I bet I'm not alone in this statement!!! Congrats LC and RH!!

Congrats to both LexCath and Rose Hill. The boys of Kentucky and the Men of the NCAA should watch this game to see how to shoot the ball. Rose Hill, you played with as much heart as I have ever seen from a team and LexCath you played as a true team should, together, all for one, and one for all. To answer you question...Yes. Queen and Terry were the centerpieces of the Royals program last year and Kayla and Britt Faulkner were at the school but did not play basketball. They were completeing their KHSAA imposed year of ineligibility for transferring. It really frustrates me that when a program does well and happens to be a private school that the first words on everyone's lips are recruiting. Is it possible? Certainly. But if you look around the 16th region, there are tons more transfers between public and public schools than the lone private school in the region. Stones could be thrown at any public school in the region. As for the Faulkners, they were clearly not going to compete at Russell, transferred to Rose Hill, and abided by the rules set forth by the bylaws. So how can anyone take exception with two girls who played by the rules that were set before them? As for the rest of the team, anyone who says that they were "recruited" clearly doesn't know much about the team or these girls since they have been at Rose Hill for a long time and bleed Royal Blue. I understand that your question is probably one rooted in the absence of factual knowledge (aka ignorance), but to formulate your question in such a manner as to cast a blantant accusation without knowing said facts is a simple cheap shot at a team that deserves congratulations. For lack of anything else to say, they were runners up of the state tournament with essentially 6 players and a team captain (who was their only all-state honorable mention) whose 20 point/game average was cut in half by an injury. That alone shows the will and talent of these players. Show some respect for that.:thumb:

Congrats to Rose Hill. 16th region has a state champioship and a state finals berth in the last 6 years along with a win by East Carter in the first round a couple of years ago. The 16th has been represented very well in the millenium. Laura Terry has been on one of the hottest two to three week streaks of anybody in the last 10 years. Emily Queen's work ethic resulted in her averaging a double/double, an amazing performance, and Kayla Faulkner did the little things that made sure her team either won or, in the case of the Lex Cath game, kept it close. Congrats again.

Congratulations to Rose Hill who won the Lexington Catholic Invivational Tourney!!! Six straight years a Class A school has won the girls. This has sent a good message to a lot of girl Basketball players in the State is the best you can think abount doing is second place. Don't seem fair to me!!!!!!

I didn't mean anything. Just wondered how they were 12-12 last year. By the way I looked it up after I posted. I didn't notice any where in my post that I mentioned recruiting:confused: . Thanks for calling me ignorant. Need a hug... Also wondered why couldn't the girls compete at Russell?(sorry for the ignorance again).

I agree w/ the sentiment that Lex Cath winning this was unfair. Its a total unfair advantage to have a coed school that actually cares about its girl's programs.(Not a shot at rose hill, more of an annoyance at Henderson Co. fans). Lex Cath doesn't pay its players and all money put into facilities for athletics and academics is funded by parents out of thier own pocket. We are even nice enough to help pay for Public School funding.

 

All this though shouldn't overshadow a great season for the Lady Knights. One loss all season and most likely a #4 finish nationally. Congrats to Nikki Davis and Anaris Sickles on great careers, two state championships, two runner ups.

 

Also a big congrats to Rose Hill, I warned the Lex Cath fans that this game would be a fight and it sounds like Rose Hill really played hard. A big applause for them on a great season.

Just got home and knew inevitibly that there would be a pile of whining. Only now there is more than the usual suspects. Good Grief, I love the fact that when success comes the green-eyed monster raises its ugly head. All I can say is congrats to a fantastic team/program in Lex.Cath. and WOW to the Lady Royals. Wish some of the others from the 16th would stand up and congratulate publicly the Royals and their accomplishment. You know, the likes of Cubster et.al., or perhaps like Shooter, I can make a run to Kroger and pick up some cheese for ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
