  1. Game was blacked out here in Sarasota, Florida sadly but I listened to second half online. Wildcats are tough but its obvious we are young guys and players who haven't played together a long time. Still, Poythress, Noel, Goodwin are BEASTS!
  2. I'm letting this play out, speculation is pointless at this point. I'm just hoping all is well with kid, I have soft spot for him.
  3. I know this has plausibility, but do you think it will have any traction at all GT? By the way, loving your twitter rants. Funny I found you on there.
  4. Um, Kentucky fans + Recruiting news = Unrealistic Expectations. We want guys 1-12 all to commit to UK each year. With the lower ones accepting Walk-on roles.
  5. Catholic's D struggled especially in the secondary. They seemed very lost when it came to either stopping the sweep or covering the receiver. Offensively, Catholic's run game was the biggest weakness. Without any risk there, Ensworth was able to rush at will and drop back in coverage. Bolin looked good. The kid can throw and make plays, that said, he really only had two targets he was able to go to. Lex Cath will have to shore up on defense and work on the run game for sure. Tough lesson yesterday.
  6. Haha, I posted that before ever reading any comments so promise that statement wasn't applied to anybody in particular! I'm sure your reason is good.
  7. I don't doubt its true in certain people, but I hesitate to say its a majority. I'd assume this is a small and IMO somewhat odd minority. If you live in Lexington for instance its almost impossible to go anywhere w/o knowing how the team is doing during the game. If you stay at home and avoid watching/listening, I guarantee if its a close or crazy game come tournament time, you can hear neighbors cheers or groans highlighting the game.
  8. Heard Lex Cath had begun to distance themselves in this one. Any word?
  9. No offense to Boyle, but they ran into a good team. Everyone I talked to after the JH vs Lex Cath game said simply that the Knights could match their speed, but no answer for Hardin's size and it ultimately wore them down. Trinity and Highlands are a notch above everyone, but this team and Bowling Green have to be right there on the next tier.
  10. I think the thing we are seeing from Lex Cath is that they can score, and they can score against teams with defenses that aren't that bad. Flip side, Lex Cath's D still needs work.
  11. Per Lex Cath coach via Twitter, LC 34 Male 26. Good win for Catholic, Down Season for Male.
  12. Wow, that is called a spanking. Like everyone else, expected a win, even thought a decent sized one, but not that.
  13. As a whole Deuce, Lexington/Fayette Co. High School is a bit down. The city itself produces some good talent, but I would almost guarantee that if you looked across all the teams in the City, they are very incomplete. One team may have lots of speed and athleticism, little size. Another team has good Size and Strength, no real speed or athletes. Its somethings I've said about Lexington for awhile, the talent is distributed across the city so that it rarely seems that anyone school anymore is able to really dominate. The emergence of Lex Cath the past 15 years and LCA the past 8 years or so has also taken a toll on the larger schools. Just enough players go to one of the two private schools instead of their Public district school, and thus a team suffers. Another issue many people point out in Lexington football is that the organization of youth football leagues is not necessarily the best and especially at the middle school level can be seen as lacking.
  14. Tough one to tell but it sounds based upon scores/opinions that H is definately down right now. Hope LCHS comes out strong and picks up a W.
  15. This one should give people an idea of the Lex Cath/Boyle Co. matchup I'd think. JH beat LCHS by 10 in a high scoring affair.
  16. Prayers Wireman, I hope your father, your family, friends, and as importantly, YOU find peace and comfort.
  17. Tolly-Ho burger though always hits the spot for Lexington.
  18. MMmMmm Burgers! Wallace Station off Old Frankfort Pike in Midway,KY near Versailles. Big Brown Burger is awesome. Table 310 in downtown Lexington had a good marbled burger with bacon meat mixed in on menu for the 4th of July weekend, but not a regular menu item. Still very good.
  19. Clyde, you answer craftily with this cop out of I'd trade, I'd trade. Ten teams cannot all trade away the first ten picks. At some point, someone must choose ten players from the available pool. Regardless of if you Trade a million times. And sadly, no one wanted to trade the Timberwolves for slot #2 so even this claim above seems to have holes. Are there ten players available you like better than Knight in this draft? It doesn't matter which team in which position. Heck, all the teams could have a crack at him if we continually Trade it away. I don't see 10 guys that suggest safer and stronger potential than Knight. Maybe 4 or 5, heck 6 or 7 even, but not 10. This draft, these players, yes, I take Knight top 10 even if it is the 10th pick.
  20. Do I draft Brandon Knight in the top 10? In general probably not if we are simply just talking average NBA drafts. While I think he is a first rounder and a highly talented and potentially long lasting player in the NBA who can have a solid career as a second or third option, I am not sure he is the caliber player you'd expect of a top 10 pick. I look at a guy like Tayshaun Prince and see more upside out of college than Knight, yet Prince wasn't drafted as high as Knight. This year, yes, I draft Knight in top 10. Ultimately someone has to take the 10 picks and in this draft with few players, based purely on the facts we have before us, looking like All-Stars, you draft for consistency, depth, and strong role players (because as even the Mavericks vs. Heat series shows, role players are very important). Knight in most drafts is a 18-20 pick. And Jimmer is a late 1st round early 2nd rounder. Kemba even is a 15 or so. Kyrie Irving may prove to be a DRose, JKidd, Iverson, Dwade guy, but in a lot of drafts I don't even see him being better then a 4th or 5th pick. This draft class isn't horrible, there are good players throughout, but at least on paper, there are few players who just scream instant all star!
  21. Ha, okay, ONE of a couple different bad parts about that site. I enjoy it and it does give a lot of water cooler talking points and little tid bits of information, but like a lot of media these days, take it all with a grain of salt.
  22. Definately an interesting case. If Kentucky ends up signing Woods I'll root for him and hope everything pans out well and at the end of his career we are blessed with a solid player who provided good productive minutes for the team and was an outstanding player. I think regardless of where Woods goes, fans of that team will probably cringe initially, its the nature of the beast, you get charged with a serious crime, you are labelled. I hope Woods proves the label wrong and takes full advantage of his second chance wherever it may be. Sadly, KSR's one downside is their ability to sometimes post without much foresight. They have really created a stigma for this kid in the eyes of Wildcat fans.
  23. I think passing out of the post is big, but I really feel that is just included in the bigger problem that Jones has down low. Jones has to realize for him to be effective in the paint he has to understand what he is going to do with the ball the second he gets it. Too often the kid caught the ball in the paint and seemed simply lost in terms of what he wanted to do. He is big, but he is not tall enough to simply do whatever he wants when he wants. When Jones gets the ball, he has to know if he is going to drive it in for the hoop or foul, whether he needs to do a baby hook, or if he needs to look at dishing it out to an open teammate. This is where I think Jones could really improve next year. Plus he will also have the chance to exhibit more of a wing presence next year with more height in the middle.
  24. In the end, Deandre i think makes the right decision here. With what UK has coming back next year there just doesn't seem to be enough opportunity for Liggins to improve his stock. Frankly, if Liggins had come back and improved his stock it would have likely been the result of poor performances by the incoming freshmen or injuries to other guys. Liggins is a great defender, good ball handler, and good at getting to the hole. His jump shot is alright, in spurts he is effective, but not necessarily great. Still, in the end, the kid has great game that could translate into the free agent route in the NBA or at the least a productive overseas playing career. Initially I thought this move was silly when I heard there was even a possibility Liggins wouldn't return. I figured this kid had no business mixing himself in the NBA right now. However, once again, it comes down to, what are NBA scouts going to learn about Liggins next year that they didn't already know about him this year, AND, despite all IF, AND, BUT scenarios, next year's draft appears to have more star power that would only drop Liggins' likelihood of getting drafted further.
