Royal mom Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Congratulation to Coach Todd and the Lady Knights to end up #3 in the Nation in todays edition of USAToday. They had a great year and represented the Bluegrass State well.
Himmelfarb Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Well deserved. Congratulations. The Lady Royals of Rose Hill should feel all the better about how well they performed against them.
scooterbob Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 LexCath is deserving of the high rating. It is good for basketball in the Commonwealth, both girls and boys, to have a school rated as third in the nation. I feel sure that such a lofty spot has not previously been occupied by one of our own. We should all be proud of the Lady Knights
WoodyJr Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Congrats. Who is the # 1 team? I believe it's Christ the King from NYC who just beat Murray Bergtraum (NYC) who was the #3 I believe. You can check out my thread in the public/private section: http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=93428 Cheers, Woody Jr P.S. did Scott get any national recognition?
Fastbreak Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Congratulations! Big time accomplishment. :thumb:
ScottCountyFan Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Yes, Woody Jr. Scott Co. did get National recognition. USA Today splits their rankings into 4 regions. There are 10 teams ranked in each region for a top 40. Then they take the top 25 of those 40 teams and rank them in the Super 25. Scott Co. was ranked anywhere from 9th-5th in the South region throughout the season. The Lady Cards made it into the Super 25 and were ranked #23 in the nation going into the Lex Cath game. Even though Lex Cath was ranked higher and won on a last second shot, this time of year, you lose and you drop out. SC is also ranked in the Student Sports top 40 in the nation currently at #28. It has been really good for the State of Ky. to have 2 teams do so well and be ranked with the top teams across the country. Ky High School girls basketball is on the rise and is receiving a lot more National attention. I know that the Lady Cards season didn't end the way they had hoped, but the "Big Red Nation" is really proud of them all. The only 3 losses came to Nationally ranked teams Lex Cath and Winterhaven Florida. We are all looking forward to watching you next season. We will feel the loss of Chelsia and Suzie, in more ways than just basketball, but we return 3 starters and a very deep bench. Congratulations to all teams in the Sweet 16. You made memories that you will always remember.
Butterfly Baby Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Thats great for girls basketball in the state of Ky
swamp thang Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 ScottCountyFan...excellent post. The SC games were the most challenging that the Lady Knights had this year. Hope the respecfful rivalry continues weel into the future. Congratulations and good luck to all of the graduating seniors.
REH5 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 ScottCountyFan as usual always responds with class. I know the Scott Co-LexCath game was a heartbreaker for him but he always sees the larger picture and I feel honored to know him personally. Congratulations to Coach Euton, she took some losses early to prepare her team for the competition and it worked.
