It was my understanding, that this weekend Nikki Davis and Anaris Sickles were the first players, male or female, to play in 4 straight state championship games. If this is the case, and I think it is, I was disappointed that there was no mention by the PA announcer. Of course the opening to the championship game was a huge disappointment, worse in 4 years. That opening would never had happened at the boys championship game.

Just because they made it to 4 straight state title games does that make it mandatory for the KHSAA mention that over the loud speaker??? Nope. While it's a great accomplishment for one individual on a team let alone there be 2, it's not the KHSAA's duty to mention it. It's the school's duty themselves to notify the different media outlets.

Slighted? No.

Your right its not a requirement, but its a nice thing to do. I would bet that it would have been mentioned for the boys sweet sixteen. Of course That just goes along with not putting the spotlight on the right team, not pronouncing names properly, and basically a lack of respect by the KHSAA for girls basketball.

There isnt a lack of respect for girls basketball by the KHSAA. And they wouldnt have made mention about who was playing in their 4th straight championship game. And while Im on a roll here I will further state that you are probably related to 1 of these girls or friends with them that you are referring to. It is an outstanding accomplishment.

I'm not related to either. I enjoy girls basketball because they execute offenses, and play defense. The KHSAA does not make mistakes when it comes to their cash cow. Saturday nights pregame introductions were not acceptable in a middle school game.

I didnt say anything about the pregame intros and since you arent related maybe just good friends. Anyhow the intros were fine, your team won. Everyone who follows girls basketball knows who Davis and Sickles are and their accomplishments. If I remember right the year after Chris Lofton scored 39 in the championship game of the boys state tourney I dont believe the KHSAA made mention of what he scored the following year. So I think the KHSAA does a great job with both tourneys.

I didnt say it was a record child, just a great accomplishment. The same as your 2 friends playing in 4 state finals, a great accomplishment. What gets me is people such as yourself get on here and try to down the KHSAA. While not perfect they do a tremendous job.

I agree the intros were pitiful. I don't blame the KHSAA as much as I do the staff at the arena. These were probably not KHSAA employees bur WKU employees (again, I'm guessing). I also agree that if this mess happened at Rupp in the boy's sweet sixteen, there would be a lot more people up in arms.
