Local media is confirming John Edge will be named the new coach at Apollo later today at Press Conference.

I know these things are almost impossible to do but how does a kid who was 2nd in State in Receiving TDs and 3rd in yards atleast not get an Honorable Mention at WR.

Sad thing is their district is very weak for a 5A District. They will not be challenged. I do believe that all the City Schools, OCath, Apollo, and Daviess County should be pretty good next year and could give OHS a game if they are not ready. But even then, OHS has far more superior athletes and in Year 2 of Gavin Wimsatt. Don't sleep on the Gibson Southern game. Gibson Southern will have a Junior QB who is garnering a lot of Power 5 offers/attention and they have been very good the past few years. This team should have some pretty high expectations and based on this schedule should come in one of the higher RPI teams and walk again to the semi-finals.

DaMarcus Ganaway posted a message on social media that he has resigned at Ohio County after 3 years. Said he was taking another opportunity elsewhere but didn't say where.

I would argue Bush had a better career in HS than Clark but both great players regardless.

Congrats to Somerset on a tremendous finish and season. Really hate that for Mayfield. Losing the Neely kid early really hurt them in the secondary. Got to feel for Jaden Stinson. Incredible player who lost 3 straight finals I believe.

I'll take Mayfield in this one 35-27 over Somerset. I think both teams are pretty equal as far as talent goes but give me the experience of Mayfield's players and coaches in this atmosphere over Somerset's.

I'm thinking this is a 20-7 type of game with Owensboro getting a defensive or special teams big play to either score or set up an easy TD to pull away. Rash Stadium is not a fun place to come play in November.

Mayfield and Corbin are two places that first came to mind on this subject.

I definitely think the sleeper team are Breathitt and Owensboro Catholic. Breathitt will be in Round 3 and still might have a favorable matchup and the scary thing is no one really knows how good they are. We know the have a good RB and a good line but are the other guys good enough? Owensboro Catholic put up a lot of points. They have a very good HS QB in Drew Hartz and they have a few weapons, but can their defense get enough stops against good competition. I would not consider Beechwood a sleeper. They are Beechwood. The word sleeper should never be associated with them.

Potential to be a very good game. Apollo has played a lot better as of late. If their QB doesn't get hurt against Henderson I think they would have won that game on the road. They just seem to have some very costly turnovers against Daviess County or they would have blown them out. Intriguing part of this game, Harold Hogg verses his former team. Hogg has put up huge numbers this year and is a very good back. Can you imagine how good OC's offense would be if Hogg hadn't transferred?

I like Owensboro 28-7 in this game. Owensboro's defense is legit.

Correct. But RPI doesn't come into play until Round 3. If Mayfield jumps Somerset after win against Madisonville then if Somerset was to beat LCA in Round 2, then in Round 3 Mayfield would have best RPI left.

I was implying that if Mayfield jumps Somerset with win over Madisonville and then Somerset turns around and beats LCA in Rd 2, that Mayfield would be #1 on West side for Round 3.

Something to keep an eye on: Mayfield jumping Somerset in RPI. Somerset could very well beat LCA in rematch and if Mayfield jumps them then they would be #1 out West.

Daviess County beat them in playoffs 2 years ago but never in regular season district play.

Just curious how this is factored to have Elmore # 1? He is a nice player but his stats are very, very average.
