Curious as to why Drew Hartz of Owensboro Catholic isn't at least on the bubble.

This year I think District 1 is the toughest. Murray has a very strong team and Caldwell County dropped down from 3A where they had some success. In other years I might choose District 4 but Danville has been down this year and it's more of a 2 team race.

Does the RPI become official this week? Should any changes from KHSAA site be expected?

I agree with this... Mayfield and Caldwell could potentially play each other again this year.

They were a good 2A Football team. Very physical RB and nice mix of athletes and size.

This one was close early but could have been way worse. Todd scored last TD very late but Catholic dropped atleast 6-7 wide open touchdowns. Catholic cant afford to that against better competition.

Don't know much about Todd other than their scores and from what I saw of them last year. They are going to have to play very good defense to limit the Aces offense. I'm going with OC 49 Todd 20.

Great thing is they will probably play twice this year!

Owensboro is a team to keep an eye on. They have an elite defense and a young QB who is getting better every week.

Would love to see someone break down the Top 10 in each class.

John Edge is still coaching at South Spencer. He is in his 2nd year there.

Owensboro Defense was very long, athletic, and physical and dominated the game. Catholic had some red zone and opportunities early on their side of the field and did not convert. There was a stretch in the 2nd quarter where everything went OHS way and Gavin Wimsatt and Tyren Hayden made a few big plays to break the game open. If Wimsatt continues to develop this will be an extremely dangerous team in the playoffs. I'd be surprised if the OHS defense gives up many more points the rest of the regular season either.

Big week of football in 2A this week. Mayfield v. PT, Somerset v. Beechwood, and Owensboro Catholic v. Owensboro, Caldwell v. Hoptown, and Danville v. Boyle Co. These games could all be very huge when factoring into the RPI for these teams. I'm excited to see how they play out.

Interesting matchup here. Catholic is coming off a tough game against Daviess County where they didn't play their best football but still won by 3 TD's, even with giving Daviess County starting scoring drives on their own 5 and 1 yard lines. OHS comes off a tough loss to Evansville Central where it sounded like they had opportunities to win this game a few times. I think OHS is looking for some revenge from last year, but I am going to take Owensboro Catholic 28-24. If Owsley and Gough were playing, I would probably give OHS a 2 TD advantage but they aren't. Should be a great atmosphere at Rash Stadium on Friday.

Great atmosphere last night. The updated Reid Stadium is one of the best around. Drop passes and special team mistakes kept DC in this one. DC was fortunate to start 2 drives inside the 5 and score. Can't wait to see the this OC team vs. OHS next weekend.

This game could get interesting if it's close early. Daviess County has a very good offensive and defensive line and Owensboro Catholic has the good skill kids. If it's close early, look for Daviess County to hang around for a bit especially with opening their remodeled stadium and the crowd they are expecting. I'll take Owensboro Catholic pulling away late. Alot of people in the area thought this one would be closer. Q McHenry is as good as advertised but Owensboro Catholic has alot of weapons and it looked like Drew Hartz was firing the offensive on all cylinders last night.

Pretty sure Jagger is Rex's younger brother. Going to be a good QB for Butler Co for the next few years.

Hancock County....they return one of the better athletes in Western KY in QB Darrian Clay. They get Todd Co and McLean at home and return alot from last year.

It's a district game... Unless the injury bug keeps biting Owensboro there will probably be a lot of lopsided District Games involving OHS this year.

Walking Tacos at McLean County High School... one of my personal favorites!
