I saw on KHSAA that both Mayfield, and Somerset are tied at 0.753. If Somerset beats LCA in the 2nd round how does the tie breaker come into play?

If both of those teams advance deep into the playoffs they wouldn’t meet until the finals anyway. So I doubt a tiebreaker matters.

East vs West at Kroger Field?

The actual calculation goes way past the thousandths. The one shown on the scoreboard page abbreviates, because 99% of the time it won’t matter. What do they show on the RPI page?

KHSAA shows it as Mayfield #2.

The only issue would be who would get to play a lower seed if they advance through the playoffs. Somerset has to worry about a potential rematch with LCA or it doesn't matter.

Yes pretty much it would be the deciding factor in who plays Beechwood and who plays Breathitt County, provided those four teams are the final four. Just using them as an example of course.

This is wrong Somerset/LCA winner will have to play mayfield in the semifinals not in the championship the new bracket is west half of the state vs the East half of the state the RPI definitely matters there seems to be a lot of confusion on this if anyone wants to clear anything up the khsaa has the complete brackets listed on their site the brackets are set the only question is the location after the second round remains to be settled

Incorrect. In the final four the teams are seeded state wide. Mayfield Somerset and LCA are all top 3 with the possibility of the latter two meeting in round 2; RPI is already locked in so no chance they meet until state

There is no tie. On the RPI page it shows that SOMERSET has an RPI of .75279 and Mayfield has .75316

 

Mayfield is the 2 seed and Somerset is the 3 seed. These teams won’t meet unless they both make it to the State Championship. The RPI will just be deciding who travels to these teams starting in the 3rd round if they both win.

You are incorrect my friend. The only round that is Seeded by East/West is the 3rd round.

 

After round 3, all teams are put in the same draw and there is no geographical preference as to where a team will go.
