  7. Gabby Bowie recorded a triple double for Sayre tonight with 25 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 blocked shots.
  8. Played great at the Hooparama at Bullitt East pre-season. Very aggressive, shot the ball well, playing with determination and purpose. They are not real deep and will have to avoid injuries and foul woes. Haeli Howard 8th grade guard one to watch in the future. Two future Kentucky players in Kyvin Goodin-Rogers and Makayla Epps. Other three starters Calhoun, Powell, and Tonge solid and athletic.
  9. Mallie Cornett 6-0 8th grader 22 points, 19 rebounds, and 13 blocked shots for Model.
  10. The top performance in this event last year would probably have been Mercy Academy's Whitney Hartlage who tallied 31 points including five three point baskets in a game against Glasgow.
  11. Some top talent expected to play at this event includes Kelsey Adwell and Rayvean Shead (PRP), Alexis Brewer and Ivy Brown (LaRue County), Makayla Epps, Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, and Patrice Tonge (Marion County), Cierra Drake and A.J. Lewis (Nelson County), Emily Fryman, Kylee Willis, and Lindsey Duvall (Bullitt East), Kelsey Greer, Shalika Smith, and Breanna Glover (Glasgow), Rebecca Greenwell and Leah Greathouse (Owensboro Catholic), Cheyenne Madden and Morgan Chesnut (Clay County), Whitney Hartlage and Kayla Richardson (Mercy Academy), Dai Ja Ruffin and Raven Merriweather (Sacred Heart Academy).
  12. Lafayette's head coaches' father Mike Mendenhall moved over from Lexington Catholic to help his son this year. He brings a lot of experience to the table. Lafayette has the size and talent and if they can handle the ball and find consistent perimeter shooting should be very competitive in the loaded 11th region this season.

  15. Any team Ron Dawn coaches will always have a fighting chance of winning a game.
  16. Sad news, she is class and enjoyed the game, must be heart breaking. Wish you a complete and speedy recovery.
  17. Best of luck to Sarah and hope for a speedy recovery. It seems like an epidemic anymore, I have covered a lot of games this season and it seems like more injured this year than in the past.
  18. What is the extent of Ashli's injury and how long is she expected to be out. Hope it is not serious.
  19. Rodney Gross and Dave Greenwell continue to put up big numbers for Coach Hundley's Jackets. Gross had 29 points seven rebounds, and four steals. Greenwell added 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
  20. I was also impressed with the fact that Gross had only one turnover in 30:16 minutes of playing time. While Jay Johnson will be greatly missed Coach Hundley will develop other players and hopefully Johnson will return strong.
  21. The Yellowjackets were led by Rodney Gross who poured in 36 points today. Gross was 11 of 14 from the field and 14 of 17 from the free throw line, pulled down eight rebounds, and dished out five assists. Dave Greenwell added 26 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
