  1. Eastern held a 49-30 advantage in rebounds and a 27-4 advantage in second chance points.
  2. Hard game to figure- Central leads 30-17 at the half, Graves County rallies to lead 42-37 at the end of three quarters and Central comes back for the win.
  3. According to the stats sheet Hazard was zero of 14 from the field in the fourth quarter and scored their last field goal with 4:56 to go in the third quarter.
  4. Anna Martin and Courtney Clifton of LCA have had great years also but being on the same team I would think it would split the votes.
  5. Linton had five points and four rebounds tonight.
  6. 6-0 Jr. Molly Ernst led the Rockets with 24 points including four three point baskets. A big win for Coach Ferch and the Rockets.
  7. Vee Sanford led Lexington Catholic with 29 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 11 rebounds (Tourney MVP). Jaylen Beckham and Taylor Botkin added 15 and 11 points respectively. Mike Walker and Micah Miller led Lafayette with 13 and 11 points respectively.
  8. Does anyone know which colleges are looking at Shae? I saw her at the Republic Bank Classic in Lexington in December and she has incredible range on her jump shot. It seems to run in the family as her and her brother are capable of scoring points in bunches.
  9. Watch out for these two teams in the future. Scott County does not have a single senior on the roster and Bryan Station only has one senior. Keep an eye on 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn for Scott County who is a starter. Also Bryan Station gets valuable contributions from 5-7 8th grader Serena Sandusky.
  10. Scott County captured the 42nd district championship with an 85-74 victory over Bryan Station. Scott County was led by Madisen Webb who recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists. Kristen Stainback led them in scoring with 29 points. Tereka Guyn and Ally Corad added 10 points each. Alex McKenzie recorded eight points and 12 rebounds. Mikyla Mosby led Bryan Station with 24 points including six three poin baskets. Carrington Caise added 15 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. Serena Sandusky and Amber Crumbie added 12 and 10 points respectively. Alesha Prince recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.
  11. Since there were two stat crews at the game tonight the stats may vary slightly on rebounds, etc but they should be very close. WL Stats showed Euton being nine of 11 from the field including two of three fom the three point line and six of six from the free throw line and 10 rebounds. I believe the other stats had him with 11 rebounds. He logged 29:11 minutes and was only credited with two turnovers. He played within the system and had an excellent outing.
  12. Henry Clay was led by Prince Stewart with 20 points. Brandon Nichols and Marquel Johnson added 12 points each.
  13. Scott County was led by Dakotah Euton with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Ge-Lawn Guyn added 21 points. Richie Phares recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds.
  14. I thought Dunbar really had a chance to be special this year but things happen. One player never got eligible, 6-6 Jr. Bryce With and 6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers had nagging injuries and some of the young players have been up and down. They have played well at times but are in a slump at the wrong time heading into district tournament play.
  15. I was impressed with Polson tonight. He is a smooth lefty who gets to the basket with a nice spin move and keeps the defense honest with excellent range on his shot. He shoots free throws well (state record 30 of 37 against LexCath) and really doesn't force the action. He is in the 6-0 range and is only a junior. He also is a good assist man who looks to dish the ball.
  16. Aaron Watts, Jacob Dixon, and Dustin Schrock led McCreary Central with 23, 20, and 13 points respectively. 6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers led Dunbar with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocked shots. Nick Hudson and Marquis Clay added 16 and 12 points respectively.
  17. West Jessamine trailed 56-52 in the fourth quarter but went on a 11-0 run to take control and held on for the victory. 6-0 Jr. Jarrod Polson led West Jessamine with 35 points. 6-0 Sr. Prince Stewart led Henry Clay with 23 points.
  18. Bryan Station improves their record to 19-6 while Dunbar falls to 13-7 for the season.
  19. 6-2 Sr. Charles Ashford led Bryan Station with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. 6-2 Sr. Cameron Richardson added 14 points. 5-10 Sr. Montell Morones chipped in with 10 points. 6-3 Sr. Jeremiah Mabson pulled down 11 rebounds. 5-11 Sr. Nick Hudson led Dunbar with 23 points. 6-2 8th grader Larry Morton added 12 points. 6-2 So. Lamont Johnson chipped in with 10 points. 6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers recorded six points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots.
  20. Lexington Catholic scored 23 points off 22 Montgomery County turnovers. Maggie Wilson led LexCath with 20 points. Shaneque McGhee added 13 points and 12 rebounds. Danielle Corbett chipped in with 11 points. Annie Garland led Montgomery County with 18 points and seven rebounds. Elizabeth Prewitt, Kayla Webb, and Mackenzie Lee added 11, 10, and 10 points respectively. Brooke Colliver pulled down 13 rebounds.
  21. Congratulations Kelsey on a fine accomplishment. Sometimes we get to involved with comparing players based on size, athleticism, etc. But as a college coach once told me"...it still comes down to putting the ball in the basket." I have had the good fortune to see Shae, Kelsey, and Jon play in several games this year and they can score at anytime from anywhere and are always a pleasure to watch perform and I for one will miss them once they graduate.
  22. Henry Clay led 15-4 after the first quarter and 23-20 at the half but Madison Central outscored the Blue Devils 26-9 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Madison Central shot 59.3% from the field in the second half. Keshawn Simpson led the Indians with 20 points and nine rebounds. Terry Jarvis and Vince Clay added 16 and 11 points respectively. Prince Stewart led Henry Clay with 14 points.
