  1. My pet peeve is when some mental "heavyweight" is screaming "call it both ways and screaming 9-2 in fouls" and pointing to the scoreboard when his team is playing an aggressive trapping defense while the other team is backed up in a passive 2-3 zone. Some coaches encourage the crowd behavior by ranting and raving at the referee from the opening horn in an attempt to intimidate and get an edge.
  2. Minutes played for Elizabethtown starters: 19:01, 25:31, 18:28, !9:40, and !7:18. Ten players dressed for the game.

Maddie Peabody led SHA with 20 points and five assists. Morgan Clemons added 12 points and nine rebounds. Lea Storch recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.
  4. It would be considered an upset. However Owensboro who came in with a losing record has played top competition all year and Kaley Robertson was injured early in the season.
  5. Becca Greenwell found a teammate open under the basket for a layup in the closing second for the victory. Greenwell had 26 points and 14 rebounds. Mary Kate Clemens and Kaley Robertson added 13 and 11 respectively. Sarah Beth Barnette led LCA with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
  6. First half foul totals Lexington Catholic 7 Ryle 10. However Jenna Crittendon and Dawn Johnson each had three fouls and as a result Crittendon only logged 6:30 minutes in the first half and 15:22 for the entire game. I don't know which coach was the most frustrated Coach Oliverio for all the fouls on her key players or Coach Talbott for the turnover fest by LexCath in the second half.
  7. paNDA, It was an interesting game with several changes of momentum. The score was tied 20-20 in the second quarter but LexCath went on a 15-2 run to lead 35-22 at halftime. Ryle came out hot in the third quarter from behind the arc and their defense forced several turnovers to tie the game 47-47 at the end of three quarters. LexCath hit their free throws down the stretch to capture the win. Ryle was in serious foul trouble early as Cheesman and Johnson fouled out and Crittendon and Jump had four fouls each. Crittendon was limited to 15:22 minutes as she picked up her fourth foul with 4:44 left in the third quarter. Ryle scored 28 points off 21 LexCath turnovers in the second half alone. Ryle was called for 22 fouls while LexCath was called for 16 fouls.
  8. Manual is loaded this year. Sacred Heart has been plagued with injuries this season and the toll continues to mount. First it was Autumn Miller, then Jackie Hafele and the latest is Monica McGreal. Louisville is tough enough anyway and the task becomes that much more difficult when you lose three key players. Manual is much improved with April Wilson back in the lineup.
  9. Sacred Heart Academy 50 Highlands 41
  10. CJ Leslie had 18 points on eight of 13 from the field and two of two from the free throw line and pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out three assists in 17:55 minutes. Word of God Christian Academy took a first quarter lead of 32-7 in a 96-48 victory over Blue Grass Baptist.
  11. 6-1 So. Taylor Barnette came up big for the Eagles tonight as he scored 29 points. Barnette was 10 of 12 from the field including 7 of 7 from the three point line and 2 of 4 from the free throw line.
  12. Aaron Watts 30 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals. Jacob Dixon 17 points including 5 three point baskets. Tyler Perry 15 points and eight rebounds. Watts was credited with only 28 points by one of the computer stat crews but the official book showed him with 30 points. A note of thanks to the computer stats crews , points can be kept up with but all the other numbers they provide are invaluable.
