  6. I know it has been discussed on the board but I am having a senior moment and forgot. Where is he located at now, did he stay at Rose Hill or did he tranfer and if so which school?
  7. Good point Les, I have got blindsided in the past by players who decided at the last minute to not come out for basketball after football season.
  8. Good job Wireman, I tend to be a bit skeptical of the early announcements on school choices because for some reason or the other it usually changes. It is a very important decision when you consider it is four years of your life. I covered a Nike camp a few years ago when it was on the UK campus and one of the top players in the country at that time would give each reporter or internet service a different list of schools that was at the top of his list.
  9. Out of the 13 seniors mentioned I only remember three Curtis Washington, Jomari Bradshaw, and Sean Samsel being at camp this summer. I would have to check the rosters again but I believe that is close.
  10. Smart runner with good speed and strength follows his blocks and has a big offensive line who he gives a lot of credit to which makes them enjoy blocking for him. One of their top receivers Chaz Mitchell will be out for a few weeks with an injury but his return will make Bryan Station even more dangerous.
  11. Good point NEERFAN elapsed time 2 hours 20 minutes. 90 running plays 18 passing plays.
  12. LCA RB Dominique Hayden carried the ball 10 times for 232 yards and scored 4 TDs on the ground on runs of 6, 25, 56, and 53 yards.
  13. Jerry Williams continues his impressive QB play with 141 yards and a 66 yard TD run on eight carries. Williams completed 17 of 27 passes for 169 yards and three TD passes of 33, 15, and 6 yards.
  14. Another big night for Bryan Station RB Tevin McCaden running behind his big offensive line carried the ball 24 times for 224 yards and five touchdowns.
  15. According to the stats my friends in Scott County sent me Josh Walls gained 198 yards including an 82 yard TD run on 16 carries. Brooks Barber added 161 yards and two TDs on 20 carries. Boone County was led by Charles Quainoo with 181 yards on 26 carries. Scott County ran the ball 50 times for 380 yards while Boone County gained 211 yards on 40 carries.
  16. Good point about the passing, Nate Alford completed 9 of 16 for 134 yards with 1 TD. Trevan Brown had 4 receptions for 74 yards and 1 TD. Charles Quainoo was credited with 101 yards and 3 TDs on 32 carries while J. Oppenheimer carried the ball 10 times for 97 yards.
  17. Henry Clay - Jerry Williams carried the ball 5 times for 90 yards and 1 TD and completed 13 of 21 passes for 170 yards and 2 TDs. Central - Anthony Wales carried the ball 18 times for 90 yards and 3 TDs. Chris King completed 13 of 27 passes for 229 yards. Steph. Robinson caught 6 passes for 131 yards.
  18. Henry Clay held a 361-338 edge in total yards but was penalized 12 times for 101 yards. The Blue Devils lost two fumbles. Central had four passes intercepted and lost two fumbles.
  19. Damon Boggs had kickoff returns of 95 and 87 yards for touchdowns for Tates Creek.
  20. Thursday July 23rd 7:40 PM - Indiana Elite (Fox) 65 IEBP All-Stars 59 - Ge'Lawn Guyn 14 points 4 Assists 4 Rebounds 2 steals.
  21. It has also been reported that Ge'Lawn Guyn of Scott County has been playing well in this event. Wednesday July 22nd 5PM Indiana Elite (Fox) 51 D-Harris Superstars 40 - Guyn 21 points 5 assists 4 rebounds. Thursday July 23rd 1PM Indiana Elite (Fox) 74 Colorado Select Blue 61 - Guyn 19 points 5 assists 4 rebounds 4 steals.
  22. China Dow played with CAL in the state AAU high school tourney and played well. Antonita Slaughter, China Dow, Allison Karst, and Anna Hart and others give CAL a lot of firepower.
  23. Great story, in today's society with all the negative stories and news it is nice to hear something good.
  24. I will personally miss seeing Jonathan play the game. Usually you will see a player perform then you will start to analyze his game and perhaps over analyze and find things or weaknesses in his game. Jonathan tended to show me something new in every game. He had an excellent shooting stroke and an extremely quick release. He was also fearless in the lane giving away 4-5 inches in the paint. Whether Jonathan ever touches a basketball again or not I firmly believe he will be remembered for years in Kentucky high school basketball circles. This Elliott County bunch was special and made basketball a lot of fun to watch.
  25. I got to know Jonathan's father pretty well over the last few years and even though I am older (more like a grandfather's age) I can understand Mr. Ferguson's comments. Years ago I would have given anything for the opportunities players get today but with opportunities comes pressure and incredible demands on your time. Back in the "good old days" you played baseball and went fishing but today basketball is a year around game. Jonathan's family will support his decision and if he does miss the game he will have opportunities. Best of luck to the family and to Jonathan and thanks for the memories---few could stroke the jumper as well.
