Lex Cath rolls in second half after trailing at the half, Whilley just ran out of gas.

LC's youth is as advertised...they pull some genuine "how'd that happen" plays coupled with some flashes equally genuine in skill and outright beauty in motion on a hundred yard field. The defense is gonna need some attention (but when is that news to any team at this point in the season) but the offense shows some respectable talent that's going to get some folk's attention. And they've got a solid steady coach who's wise and patient enough to allow that talent to develope (in a schedule that will demand it developes). They will be fun to watch and should be in the thick of the 4A playoff run by the end of the season...GO BIG BLUE...

Thought the game would be tighter than 46-27

LC scored a couple of TDs late and gapped the Colonels mostly when Whitley had to sub down due to cramps. There were times when the Colonels looked really good and times when they looked really bad. The Colonels will be much better as their younger players develop. Turnovers killed the Colonels and they don't have a big margin for error. LC looked much better running the ball in the second half, and they should have a really nice team as they mature as the season goes on. Both teams will be better after the season is four or five weeks old.

Any offensive stats for Lex Cath?

Lexington Catholic had 500 total yards on offense, 246 rushing and 254 yards passing. Soph QB Kyle Bolin completed 10 of 18 passes for 254 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Bolin carried the ball three times for 67 yards including a 70 yard TD run.

IMO this is typical Lexington Catholic football. 50% run, 50% passing, makes defending very hard.
