I thought it was very classy last night when Brossart was playing at Dixie. It was Dixie's senior night and the coaching staff honored and gave flowers to Brossart's seniors as well. I cannot begin to describe how unexpected and respectuful this act was.

Same thing happened at Boone County's Senior Night last night. Prior to the introduction of players, Sacred Heart's seniors were called out in front of the scorer's table and presented flowers and a memento by the Boone seniors.

 

This was something I had not seen before and, like you, also thought it a classy act.

When my daughter played softball against Grant County the seniors on her team received flowers from Grant County at GC's senior day. Nice touch.

I think St. Patrick has been doin this for a couple of years, maybe longer.

Pendleton County did this with the Dixie seniors last Friday night. Introduced and gave flowers to the Dixie seniors.

Another classy move (or at least I think so) was last night at Fleming County's senior night, St Patrick agreed to let FC get the tip and pass it to a Senior waiting under the basket so she could score. I guess the story was that she has been on the DL with a knee injury and was not allowed to play but they wanted her to be able to score on Sr. night. In return FC was to let St. Patrick score the next 2 points. Not sure of the rest of details. I'm not sure how many spectators knew what was going on. It seemed like a pretty odd couple of possessions with no one playing defense.

Presenting flowers to all seniors (both teams) on senior night is also a tradition at Notre Dame.

Coach Mefford at Carroll County does this also. I think it is a great thing.

St. Patrick did the same thing last night for Montgomery County's Annie Garland.

Very nice Dixie. Another reason why I love girls athletics.

And NCC also at least the Volleyball team did it on their Senior night . I believe that they were playing Simon Kenton then .

I think recognizing both teams' seniors on senior night has become the standard in girls' sports. I can't recall a game (regardless of sport) I've coached in that didn't do this. That said, I agree the recognition of the opposing team is a very classy move.

Notre Dame performed the same random act of kindness last night for the St. Henry seniors. Very classy act indeed.
