16thBBall Fan 3,335 Posted November 29, 2020 In a rematch of last years Regional Final Frederick Douglass will take on Southwestern the only difference this year is that the game will be played at Southwestern. Frederick Douglass won last years playoff game at Douglass 44-8. Both teams has only suffered one loss this season. The Warriors only loss came last month to Pulaski Co. 15-12 and they avenged that in a big way Friday by defeating Pulaski 35-14 for the district title. Douglass lost their only game in their first game of the season a 19-17 loss to North Hardin. Southwestern has a very good run oriented offense featuring to very good junior running backs in Tanner Wright and Giddeon Brainard. Wright has rushed for 1200 yards this season while Brainard has rushed for almost 700 yards. The Warriors offense is averaging 284 yards rushing per game. Douglass is coming off a 39-21 win over Scott Co. The game was not really as close as the final score a problem for the Broncos that kept the game closer was their over 200 yards in penalties. That was the really the only negative in the game as Douglass pretty much dominated the Cardinals in all other aspects of the game. This game will come down to the Broncos being able to slow down the Warriors potent running game and try to jump out to a lead and force them to play from behind and have to start throwing the ball more. For Southwestern to win they will need to be able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. They will need to control time of possession and try and keep the high powered Bronco offense on the sideline. I do think this game will be closer than last years game, but I think that Douglass just has to much talent and athleticism for the Warriors. Big Things Kentucky 275 Posted December 4, 2020 The Warriors are unpredictable though they always seem to get a win or 2 they are not supposed to get.

REH5 46 Posted December 4, 2020 Frederick Douglass appears to be on a roll this season. The weather could be a factor tonight and Southwestern is a worthy opponent. I feel for Southwestern to win they have to control the clock limiting Frederick Douglass' offensive touches and hopefully turn the Broncos over.

16thBBall Fan 3,335 Posted December 5, 2020 It's really sad that a Regional Final has to be played on a field in this condition in this day and age.
