Lexington Christian Academy has worked hard to finally put themselves as the team to beat in Class 2A after surviving the "District of Death". The Eagles have spent the better part of the past five season as being a team more than capable of winning a State Title, that just could not finish as the last man standing in the playoffs from their own District. LCA took a huge step forward by jumping in front of Somerset, the reigning 2A Champion coming in, then holding on in yet another epic battle between the two.

Metcalfe County enters on a different path. The Hornets may be the least recognizable name of the eight remaining teams in Class 2A, but they have put together one fine season. Metcalfe went on the road to Edmonson County and avenged an early season loss to claim the District 3 Championship. They have not lost since the first weekend of October.

LCA brings a high powered offense that has did impressive things against a very stout schedule. The Eagles rely on one of Kentucky's top Junior playmakers in Xavier Brown and have several key role players littered on both sides of the ball that create opportunity and have a knack for making the big play when it is needed. Metcalfe County will need to find an answer for a clear speed advantage and will rest their hopes on an ability to slow the tempo with their ground and pound rushing attack. Any chance of a jaw dropping upset begins and ends with an ability to keep the score low. 

I’m glad Metcalfe has had this run but this is where it ends LCA is heads and shoulders better and this will be a running clock midway through the second quarter.

Good for Metcalfe for winning the District on the road in the playoffs!  That is a great accomplishment for those seniors.  But I think LCA could win it all and should win this one pretty easily.

I believe this game has been moved to Lexington Catholic.

LCA up 19-0 with 7 min remaining in the 1st quarter. LCA dominating every play so far.
