Madison Southern job not posted...why?
BIG_BALLIN replied to BIG_BALLIN's topic in KY Football (High School)
Madison Southern needs an established coach who has been around the block a few times. Whoever the coach is probably will not get to bring in many if any assitants and needs to be able to hit the ground running, therefore the coach needs to be someone this whole community and town respects from the get go so that their gameplan can fully be implemented. As far as teaching jobs being open I have no clue about any of that, I guess NWO could tell you about that since he seems to know everything going on in this case. -
Bell County Football: Who Can Replace Dudley Hilton?

Chuck Smith? You must not pay much attention to football. The guy is the recruiting coordinator for UK! -
Madison Southern job not posted...why?
BIG_BALLIN replied to BIG_BALLIN's topic in KY Football (High School)
I got a call about 10 minutes ago that the job would be filled today from someone who is out-of-state. I'm not sure how any of this is going down. This is kind of comical. -
Madison Central's Smith signs with Bradley
BIG_BALLIN replied to nWo's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I know Isaac and his family very well. This is a great kid who is a hard worker and has one of the most serious attitudes I have ever seen in my life. Bradley is getting a fine young man. -

Well thats good they are 3-0, but Model is still Model and can't compete in the weak 44th district. -

I think Central is a little overrated this year. Hoop you are right, next year they should be very impressive. -
Which Coaches Whine the Most?

Allen Feldhaus (Madison Central) doesn't whine, he just blows his lid on refs. He sometimes just loses control. -
Madison Southern job not posted...why?

Well Trenchmaster I agree with you on about everything. The Pee Wee league is a disaster, money has come up missing, coaches won't run what Madison Southern or Berea for that matter run, and it will take work for that to be corrected. IMO there are good coaches left at Southern that I hope become assistants down there. Doug Carter (has been the head coach but has a boy down there), Dustin Busler, Derek Tipton, and Coach Colbert all are young guys that could really help the program out. The main thing I think is that the community needs to support this team. The city of Berea does and will always support Berea Community first I feel, but the county in general needs to get behind Southern to help make this what I feel could be a very good winning program. GO EAGLES!!! -
Madison Southern job not posted...why?
BIG_BALLIN replied to BIG_BALLIN's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yes, the job is open, but NO the job was never posted and from what I am hearing the Adminstration at Madison Southern has contacted many coaches who already are at other schools. First off that is fine if a coach who has a job applies for themselves, but I think its a little fishy that a school is trying to take other coaches from schools. Let me say this my kid has played at Southern for the last two seasons and I want the Eagles to go out and compete, but the way they are going about it just isn't the correct way IMO. Southern has contacted Pulaski Co., Rowan Co., and Paul Rains for this position. I'm not sure who the out of state person is but I hope this goes better than the way it is sounding. GO EAGLES!!! -

Really, if that is the case this is the best kept secret and pretty disrespectful not to have an official hiring process. -
Hilton to Pikeville College?
BIG_BALLIN replied to CoachBuckett's topic in KY Football (High School)
WOW...I never thought that would happen. No offense to Pikeville, but I would rather coach at Bell Co. I know his son will be graduating from high school this year but he can continue to have tremendous years there. I really don't think Dudley will stay at Pikeville very long. I wish nothing but luck to you Coach! -
The Adminstration of the school told Coach Brumley after the loss to Powell Co. that he would not be back after the year and that was week 5 of the season. So why is it that this job is not posted. I know that a few coaches have been contacted about the position but I thought 30 days notice had to be given. There IS talent walking these halls, but not to be rude, what head coach has gone on to do a thing after coaching at Southern. The answer is none. The examples are as follows. Glen Green-retired from coaching after being let go. Mike Elkin-never missed the playoffs while at Southern, retired to get away from adminstration, became an assistant at Lex Cath. for a year, and Lincoln Co, under Coach French. Teddy Taylor-certainly not a good head coach. Doug Carter-had several players go on to play college ball (Luke Stocker, Malachi Maxwell, Robert Dees just to name a few), two playoff wins, and always had numbers. His last few years numbers dwindle and he retired. Dave Brumley-Hard worker, very discipline oriented, still young and I hope he gets a chance to coach again. The reson why Southern has a hard time finding coaches that stay for long periods of time is because the people in Madison Co. are not football people. They are more worried with basketball and do not get people involved with football decisions who know a lot of football. When they do get football people in after a short period of time the initial support fades and things go south. The first move would be to post the job with the KHSAA, as of this morning it was not and its been open for three or more weeks. Any thoughts...?

Madison Central 60 Madison Southern 57
BIG_BALLIN replied to nWo's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I am shocked the Eagles kept it this close. I heard they played 5 guards to help break the Central press, and just shot the lights out. Good win for Central, tough loss for Southern. -
Agreed!

I was told he is interested in coming to Madison Southern. He still ives in Madison Co. I believe. This was told to me by someone who is close to him. If he did win here he would probably leave for another job.

There is talent in the hallways. Coach Brumley's biggest downfall was recruiting the hallways. Kids wanted to play, but also didn't want to put in the time during the off-season. That's a big "catch 22" do you tell kids they can't play because they didn't put in the time, or do you let them on a draw a line between the kids who did put in the time. Southern has the capability to compete each year, but kids have to get off X-BOX and come lift and work a little bit.
-
First off I'll say this, Coach Brumley was one of the hardest working guys I have ever meet. As a parent I have watched this guy put in more hours and work then all the other head coaches at this school combined. There is not another coach who will out work this man. When Dave took this job over there was NO DISCIPLINE, Players were doing what they wanted in the classroom, and were not held accountable for there actions off the field. Dave may not have won many games, but his players were in the weightroom, coaches were by his side working, and players were more in tune with what to do in and out of the classroom. Madison Southern football is one of the highest paid positions in the state. Administrations in this school system do not understand what it takes to support a program. I use Southern and Central both in this example. When these kids play middle school ball they rarely lose, but over the last several years when they get to highschool something fails these kids. Highschool football is a something that has to be FULLY supported at all levels in schools and in the community to be able to succeed. I will say this, if Southern wants to win no matter who the coach is, the people and community that brings the next coach in better take a long look in the mirror, and ask themselves if they are willing to commit as well. GO EAGLES!!!

Bell Co. has the best burgers, and I'd compare them with burger you would get at a steakhouse. I love them. These aren't J.T.M. burgers either, these things are legit. -

I have a huge feeling this will be a drive by with a football. Bell Co. is too well coached, to strong, to mean, to much tradition to let these guys beat them. Bell Co. 52 Lawerence Co. 7 -
Teams in state playoffs with 3 wins or less?
BIG_BALLIN replied to TheLastDon's topic in KY Football (High School)
I actually think its a joke. Many times you are asking these teams to be sacraficial lambs to take out to slaughter in the first round. What if you were the number seed and lost a kid playing a team that was 1-9 and then go into the second or third round playing good teams without your best player. I know that injuries happen all the time and can happen in any game, but I'd hate to lose a kid this way. -

Knox may not be the best team in 4A, but I have seen them play twice and they are about as physical as I've seen. Knox 35 Rowan 21
