  1. Sorry, the score was 40 to 8. McCreary seems to be the old McCreary without Watts and Roark.
  2. McCreary scored their only touchdown with 12 seconds to go on Madison Southern's freshman. Good win Eagles!:ylsuper:
  3. Larkey is at Harlan, Scott Parkey is the coach at Rockcastle, and yes I did talk to him.
  4. Actually according to Coach Parkey they only had one out for that game, so sugarcoating a close game with Southern is quite alright.
  5. Rockcastle really had a tough time putting Madison Southern away, so it could get very ugly.
  6. I know Southern is struggling this year, but they are battle tested against some tough team. Lincoln Co, Montgomery Co., two tough teams in East and West Jessamine. All this before they ever played their first district game last week versus a down Rockcastle team. Southern's weak spot will be pass blocking for sure which they are not very sound in at all. Southern has given up points, but they do create turnovers but have struggled against good competition to translate those into points. McCreary I hope for your all's sake that you do not experience what Southern did after the '05 season when our studs left. The Eagles had a hard time finding what we were good at and still are struggling. They had a few bright spot/players, but never could get all the boys on the same page. I pull for you boys in Sterns when we don't play you but this Friday I'll have to give the edge to the Eagles.
  7. Easy there Hasbeen, there are still plenty of people who care about Madison Southern football. The Eagles will win this game. As for not caring I take a big exception to that. Yes, things are a little hair-brained there, but there are kids who work hard, and even though many don't agree with this coaching staff and what is going on, they still are working hard, and trying to do the best they can. Madison Southern 35 McCreary Central 32
  8. Well, I think its good for KY football being seen on a national setting, but these two schools really have little trouble with the rest of this state, maybe Highland and few other games. 95% or more of the state don't even have a shot. Their facilities and everything are a class above the rest. Not complaining here, just their should be a "private school" championship, and let the rest play it out. I love watching these games though, I have seen this game played about 10 times, and it is very entertaining to watch.
  9. I heard the final alignment numbers will be out October 18th.
  10. Gentlemen, this will get ugly fast. Pulaski Co. 52 Lincoln Co. 14
  11. I'll tell you this, this has to be the best team in class 4A, and I actually think by a long shot. I've seen Boyle play and even though they are tough I don't think they do enough offensively that can really hurt Bell. Bell's defense is awesome to watch. I haven't seen a highschool defense fly like this one does in a long time. Whoever those two D-tackles are can flat fill holes. Bell's line isn't really big, but they root people out. Papagrit was right the Davenport kid is very good. I think after this week, if they stay healthy I would be shocked if Bell loses a game. Knox will be their toughest test to date and after that I don't see these boys getting pushed until they play Boyle in the playoffs. Dudley has his boys primed again, the only way I see this team losing is by commiting silly mistakes and turnovers, other than that Bell will be hard to stop.
  12. Guys I pull for Madison Southern. I know "my team" has not gotten wins, but they have played West Jessamine, Montgomery Co, East Jessamine, Lincoln, and Powell Co. I think those teams are a little bit tougher. We still have to play in the same district as you Cellking, so we still have Bell Co. Rockcastle, Knox, you guys, and Estill. I'm pulling for the Raiders this Friday. Unless we are playing each other, I always pull for our district, and you are right this 4A district is the toughest top to bottom. So, even though we have had a rough few years, we are still playing some of the better teams around. Good luck Friday McCreary.
  13. Well guys I'm not saying these are horrible teams, but none are teams that if you win people are very impressed with. Knox is a district game so that has to be played. To gain respect and really build a team that can compete in the playoffs I feel like you have to play teams that are either equal to you or maybe even better. That being said I also know wins in general build confidence and help moral. No offense in my comments folks. Just stating an opinion.
  14. Well sarcasm isn't really needed Hatz, but its ok I forgive you. I just happen to know that Boyle does not want to stay in 4A, because I spoke with one of their Principals last night, and he told me that they do want to move up. I wasn't trying to knock anybody here, just stating facts I was told by reliable people. If you were Boyle, would you want to go through Highlands every year. I know I wouldn't.
  15. I'd disagree with a tough first half schedule, but I do think McCreary wins.
  16. I think parody will soon come, if Highlands goes to 4A and Boyle doesn't chicken out and move up then 4A will have all kinds of parody with Bell, Highlands, Boyle, Knox Central and a few others, that would make 5A wide open. 6A will usually always be 2 team dominant, but if class 4A gets straightened out I think parody will return to highschool football in good ole KY.
  17. Guess your right, what is sad is there is about 1100 students in the school 550 or so are boys, and 25 play. I'm not saying Hershal Walker is walking the hallways, but there are big boys in this school who could care less about football who with a little motivation maybe could make Southern a competitive team.
  18. Nice win for Powell, no offense but this just shows how bad Madison Southern has fallen.
  19. I know this isn't clash of the titans here...lol...but this game I think has some future implications at MSHS.
  20. Knox Central in a landslide Knox Central 63 McCreary Central 6
  21. Rockcastle has had one of the best traditions around central Kentucky. However, it was Tom Larkey and Tony Saylor who brought that mind set to the Rockets. We all know the Larkey has left, and that Coach Saylor can only do so much. Rockcastle has basically the same type of players they had several years ago, but from the games I have seen the physicality just isn't there. These boys have forgotten the tradition of Rocket football, and some of that mind set falls on the coaches. I also have seen Rockcastle line up in in more spread over the last few years, which is not the style most are used to seeing from Rockcastle Co. Things have certainly changed in Mt. Vernon, but they can get back to their dominant ways, but major change will have to occur.
