Absolutely huge.

Very good. Marquee game in KY.

Agree with all the above. I think it may also compete on a "national basis" as far as rivalry games. The dedicated alumni of both is a huge factor as well. I do not see how anyone could argue this is not a positive for Ky. HS football.

I think its the biggest deal KY has going, in terms of HS football.

Don't have to be an X or T fan to love the value this game has for KY HS football.

A few years ago I was at the game and there was a middle-aged couple sitting behind us. We engaged in some conversation and it turns out they were from Boston, MA and were down to see UL play BC the next day, as I recall. They had heard about the rivalry and the crowd and wanted to attend in person.

For those who don't know the two schools play each other in all types of sports during the week leading up to the game, and the alumni have a golf match. The Catholic girls schools participate in the half time festivities. There is a lot more to it than merely the game.

No doubt it is good for Louisville and for Kentucky.

Well stated CM. Have missed seeing you.:thumb:

Absolutely agree. Although I'm unfamiliar with other big rivalries in E.Ky (Pikeville-Prestonsburg) or W.Ky (Hoptown-Christian County), St. X v Trinity has to be the biggest marquee game Ky has to offer year in, year out.

Awesome for high school sports!

I think any rivalry game is important to Ky, and high school football. Its a shame that more schools can not challenge these two powerhouses though and I think that takes away from it. Whatever side your on on the public vs. private or the huge size of the two schools in comparison to others in the state you have to acknowledge that it lacks the luster or say other states and their big rivalries.

Usually I agree with you skilld-kid, but on this one I don't. I think Trinity and St. X is the biggest game and rivalry in the state. others that I am aware of that are close are: CovCath/Highlands, Danville/Boyle County, and Newport Central Catholic and Beechwood. However, the enthusiasm for this game is tremendous. (They often get to replay it for the state finals)

It's great for the state of KY. For being a "basketball state" it says a lot that a high school football game in this state can bring about 30-38K fans! Also, it give KY some national/regional attention as well, and there is never anything wrong with that!!! Yes, there are fans that don't like either school because of who they are, but they understand the importance of this game not just to those two schools, but to the entire state.

I would like to know what the opinion is of the individual who voted bad.

The biggest game in Kentucky during the regular season, but not the game that really counts as far as winning the State Championship Games are concerned, but one that the teams and fans really enjoy. GO ROCKS
