  1. I'll say this, Knox is the only team other than Boyle that could beat Bell Co. With that being said Knox will roll in this game. Knox Central. 45 Greenup Co. 12
  2. Well, with the exception of Madison Southern, the three teams in this district play a tougher brand of football than Rowan and Lawernce. I feel bad for Lawerence cause a two seed gets to play Rockcastle who know how to turn it up come this time of the year. Rockcastle Co. 28 Lawerence Co. 24
  3. I know Rowan will win this game, and more than likely pretty easily. I just want our boys to go out and compete and finally play a game to their potential. The line is the biggest weakness for Southern but they do have some pretty good players at the skill position. Their QB, Chris Roberts is a Junior who has started all three years and has a strong arm. Whoever the coach is next year, I hope they use a scheme that won't get this kid killed next year. In the right offense this kid could be lethal. Rowan 56 Southern 12
  4. Not a bad choice, but that guy burned a lot of bridges before he left Berea. His wife is from there I think, but I don't really see that one happening.
  5. What is your call? Can we get a poll for this please?
  6. That's why I say Charlie Owens, as a player he went to the playoffs under Aaron Stepp, played at Morehead, coached under Paul Rains at LCA, and won a lot of games as an assistant under Mike Bowlin.
  7. I'm hearing a lot of things about this job. I talked to somebody who is in the school and they want somebody who is either from Berea, or went to school at Berea. The coaches who are on the staff now are ok, but the superindendant and faculty want somebody that actually teaches in the building and that understands the kids at this small 1A school. I already said Charlie Owens would be a great fit, but do you all know anybody that would fit this bill?
  8. Gentlemen, I coached a few of Madison Centrals boys as middle schoolers at Clark-Moores. The guys are gonna shock a lot of people. This year they will be really good, but the 2011-2012 season they should be the favorite in the 11th region. Not sure if he is playing, but Coach Feldhaus needs to get Dre Goggins out and playing this kids is almost as good as the Hawkins kid, but is more interested in football.
  9. I can't believe Coach Hart's team played this sloppy.
  10. Not trying to make anyone upset, but this is the dumbest post I have ever read. Like Coach Herm Edwards always said, "You play to win the game".
  11. I know of three coaches right now who are very interested in the job, and all are from Berea, and all have a lot of experience. Each of them have been assistants under really good coaches at other programs. I'm not saying the coaches down there now are horrible by any means, but Berea needs people who understand the community and what these kids need.
  12. Well, I'll say this if the Raiders have only 14 player no matter what is going on something needs to be done about that now. I know at Southern they have only about 25 players and administration there is upset with so few numbers. When things like this happen then a coaching change usually does need to be made because this trend will continue, it usually always does even though the guy is in his first year. If you are getting beat then you do need to play everybody in order to gain expirence for those young guys who are there. I know some of them won't be ready but thats the price you pay. Fans, Coaches, and Adminstrations need to be as positive for the kids sake as possible, and that means supporting your coaches even if you don't like what is going on there. Football for most nontraditional schools certainly goes through huge cycles, and I hope for McCreary's sake this is just a cycle and not a pattern of things to come.
  13. Not sure if he would be interested, but I think Charlie Owens over at East Jessamine would be a great fit at Berea. He played at Berea Community, played college at Morehead, and has worked under very good head coaches Paul Rains and Mike Bowlin. If he is interested it would only make sense for someone who has had a lot of expirence and knowledge to take over there.
  14. I don't think Coach Coleman can be the Head Coach because his wife is the A.D. and assistant principal.
  15. There coach Kenan McWorter resigned Friday morning before their homecoming game. Does anybody know why?
  16. No arguement, Bell Co. will have a running clock to start the second half. I just hope Southern's QB and RB's come out of this game injury free.
  17. I live in Rockcastle Co. now and hear all kinds of stuff come out about this football team. Will the youth of this football team be enough for Coach Parkey to keep his job? I know the natives are restless in Mt. Vernon, but he seems to be a decent coach. Any word?
  18. This score is not real shocking. I thought Coach Scenters team would have put up a few more points. Who is Garrard's defense coordinator? Garrard seems to usually give up a lot of points.
  19. I really thought the Tomcats would have won this game at Putnam. Nice win for Johnson Central.
  20. Well HOP if this is your last post of the year you made it a good one. The only thing I fear for McCreary is what has happened to Madison Southern in the past. McCreary over the last few years has been a good team. What happens over the course of the next few years is you will see coaches and kids think that the success will just roll over into the next year and it does not. Now, coaches and player will say this doesn't happen but it can and does very easily. Mike Elkin had a good run for about 4 years where his teams could play with anybody, and won against a few teams they were not supposed to, a coaching change happened and Coach Taylor had an expirenced team but lost because everybody "thought" they were supposed to be good, it turned out to be horrible. History is repeating itself at Madison Southern right now, and over the last three years Southern has been horrible. I'll give you that teams lose great players and a time for rebuilding takes place at a lot of schools, but in my mind its up to coaches to get players to come out and play, its up to coaches to get kids motivated to lift, and its up to players to push harder when great players leave. McCreary had the opprotunity to be a decent football team with the line they have back, but somewhere the kids became "satisfied" with past accomplishments, and as we all know in this game that cannot happen if you want to build a program and reputation as a hard nosed team. I hope McCreary Central understands that during this offseason if this does not happen, they will still be playing catch up 5 or more years from now. I hate to see teams play awesome for a few years and then have to start from the bottom up all over again. Its a cycle that takes place, but I also feel its a cycle that does not have to happen.
  21. As a matter of fact they did not try an onside kick, they kicked a squib kick that hit a kid in the chest and bounced back and Southern recovered. Trenchmaster, I was not trying to be disrespectful I was just saying give Southern kids credit for coming up with turnovers. I also know that Bell Co. and company will beat Southern as bad as they want. Southern's kids have been through a lot this year, and my post never said a disrespectful word toward McCreary's players. The Raiders kids including this year have always been graceful and respectful. Again, all I was stating is that Madison Southern "finally" played a complete game, and we are glad to come away with a win. Also, for HOUSEofPain how is the kid who got hurt for McCreary in the endzone last night, he was down for awhile and not sure if he came back in the game. I hope he is ok, and that you guys fight hard the rest of the year. Good Luck, and GO EAGLES!!!
  22. I'd like to know what game you were watching? The reason you didn't punt is because Southern intercepted the ball, caused a fumble, or turned you over on downs. You all did sustain 2 drives that gave you a lot of yards, but walking the ball up and down the field like you're saying is a little made up. It's not much consolation though because Log Mountain here we come.
