  1. I really thought they might win a few more games. I do think the vehicle is heading in the right direction though.
  2. I have a feeling this must have been ugly, I've been told his teaching job is already posted.
  3. No doubt, but I also think if a few more players played a little more defense this game, we would have been closer and we could have maybe beaten Wayne Co.
  4. Me either, we have plenty of skill kids, and we run the ball fairly well, but our defense might be the worst unit in the state. Coach Kling's scheme I think just does not work. They are running a 4-3 that they have run in years past but it just seems like the kids just stand around. To make matters worse we can't tackle. You guys ripped me a couple of weeks ago, but Coach is playing his best kids on offense and nobody is very effective on defense. I said it before but more than 2 or 3 guys are gonna have to go both ways. Powell County has improved no doubt, but this game really wasn't much of a game at all.
  5. The Hawkins kid will keep it close. This is the best player in the state that many people do not know about. He is a Division 1 player. Scott Co. 36 Madison Central 28
  6. Yes that is true. Lynn Camp had one good drive in the second half and other than that the defense was able to come up with some very timely plays.
  7. Also, I'm sure it feels good to beat a Paul Raines team...just saying.
  8. We got one! I know some of you guys take my comments as harsh but I'm so glad for these boys. These guys have finally learned how to compete, and come together. The defense stepped up something that did not happen a year ago and got our offense going. Also, had a few more guys make plays than last week...go Eagles!...gonna have some fun in Berea tonight...lol
  9. I agree Mean Bird and I'm not trying to hate on Coach Clark like my first posted seemed, I am just saying we do have 7 or 8 players that can be considered "good" highschool players and of those only 2 played both sides at anytime in the game. I love the fact Coach Clark is getting guys on the field, but play them on special teams, play them situationally, but not for periods of time that can cost you a game. Bourbon Co. was and is a better team than us, but they are not 40 points better, and I think 2 or three more kids seen more time on the defensive side of the ball it would have been closer and might even been a game. Again, I am on board with Coach and the kids seem to love this guy and what he is teaching them. He WILL make Southern a competative team again something they have not been especially last year. I just think Coach needs to reign back a few of the kids he is playing in some situations. Let's go get Lynn Camp...Go Eagles!!!
  10. No, that is the plain truth. Tell me a team outside of Trinity or St. X that changes 18 or 19 players from offense to defense?
  11. I am sad to say because my son plays and I love these boys, and yes I love the fact that 80 kids are on the team, but MSHS cannot 2 platoon players. This is not college football, and several of these players should not be on the field at all. We gave up 365 yards on the ground, and 60 points. This is horrible and unacceptable. Give props to Bourbon for laying the smack down. The best players do not play a lick of defense...NONE. 3 kids played both way...3. Last time I checked this is not the NFL or college. I like Coach Clark and what he is trying to do, but at this level and at this school you CANNOT 2 platoon. If he does not figure this out and quickly you might as well tank another season of Madison Southern football, and I hate it because there is enough talent playing to win games.
  12. I was at this game, and Central did not looked organized whatsoever. Had it not been for Dominique this game would not have been close. I thought Central would be very competitive this year, and not taking anything away from Letcher Central, but if MCHS can't win this game then it might be a long year.
  13. Thanks cellking...I wish the Raiders well this year as well.
  14. I counted 62 boys out today. Coach Clark has got the boys out, kids are flying around, spent a few days at a "boot camp"/team building, and if nothing else has brought the excitement back to Madison Southern football something that certainly wasn't there last year. Also, I know that this is not a thread for other sports, but ALL the coaches in each sport seem to be very upbeat. I think Coach Clark has certainly been a breath of fresh air at Madison Southern. I also think that if football brings excitement, it spreads to all sports. I look for Southern to be very good in all sports this up coming year. GO EAGLES!
  15. I think Coach Browne's team will struggle, several of their kids have transferred to Madison Southern.
  16. Madison Southern has had three certified kids move in, one from Tennessee, and two transfers, I would like to think a possible 6 or 7 win season and I'm not joking. The kids that have come in are very talented, plus not playing against Bell Co and Knox Central certainly helps.
  17. I heard Shane Buttry from Madison Southern was interested in the position. He would be a good choice, and was the 2010 11th region coach of the year.
  18. I don't think thats right at all. Coach Owens was on Paul Rains's staff at LCA, is currently on staff at East Jessamine, and played ball at Morehead. I think Coach Owens is a better coach. Nonetheless, Berea will be lucky to win a game.
  19. They should have given this job to Charlie Ownes over at East Jessamine. He is a Berea grad, and played college football. He applied for the job and like all the others who applied never got an interview. The job was just handed over to the interm principals husband. Berea will struggle big-time.
  20. I think Brad Sizemore should be the man. He took a Garrard Co. team that wasn't very talented and had them competing very well. If he wants the job I think it should be his.
