Letcher County Central 35 Madison Central 34 (2OT)

Great Game in the 2nd part of the Roy Kidd bowl at EKU.

Letcher Central connects on a 4th a goal hail mary from the 40(?) in 2nd overtime to tie the game and wins it with the extra point.

LCC dominated the 1st half but looked exhausted in the 2nd half. MC Jr. (and basketball standout) Dominique Hawkins took a handoff 99 yards for a TD and exploded in the 2nd half for a huge game.

I was at this game, and Central did not looked organized whatsoever. Had it not been for Dominique this game would not have been close. I thought Central would be very competitive this year, and not taking anything away from Letcher Central, but if MCHS can't win this game then it might be a long year.

Theay are in a tuff district with Lafayette, Tates Creek and GRC.

Good Win for Mike and Letcher Central. Good Luck to Letcher for the rest of this Season.

Central started slow and it was obvious nerves were major factor in this game. Didn't look like the same team that beat Bryan Station the week before in scrimmage 18-6. However, I will say that Dominique helped to energize the team and I think the second half speaks to the character of these young men. Two years ago, they would have hung their heads but not on Saturday night. They rose to the challenge and played like true athletes. A loss nonetheless but nothing to be ashamed of. Great game! Looking forward to the future.
