  1. I know Madison Central won the game, but Berea for much of the game outplayed Central. I thought the bogus technical foul called swung the gate to help Central take control. I think Bill Smallwood is the most underrated coach in this state. Year in year out he doesn't have much talent but he gets the most out of his players. This year he had a little talent and played Central in a very close game. Congrats to Madison Central, GREAT YEAR PIRATES...!
  2. No there are not 75 kids lifting, my son is there three mornings a week (6:30) A.M. I like that! It is the same old same old. Madison Southern is playing a much easier schedule than the last 4 or 5 years which may mean a few more wins, but Coach Clark won't be setting the world on fire like many people at Southern think. I like the change of mentality Coach Clark has, he is way more positive than Coach Brumley was, but I really don't see things changing a whole lot.
  3. The 44th district is a joke. These teams need to play in another region!
  4. Welcome to 11th region basketball. This region is usually one of the top two regions every year. Madison Central is like the 4th or 5th best team in this region, so don't grip about officials, or students getting on your players. That's 11th region basketball. Take your loss and move on.
  5. I think all you guys are probably right. Northern Kentucky and EKU have both come to see him play and NKU is pretty high on him, I know NKU is D-III, but they are a very good program. I know what it takes to play at the D-I level, and I do think that the team he plays on affects his ability to be seen. He will play college ball but I hope the team he plays on now does not hurt him...I think it does. Everyone in here brings up great points and I agree with them, but if Southern was having the year they had last year Ponder would be playing at a small D-I school.
  6. I agree with what everbody is saying. I think the biggest thing with him as a defender is the fact he has had to do most of the scoring for Southern and he is not asked to be the primary defender. I think with work defensively he could play for a small D-1 school in the OVC or the MAC. I watched him play last night and it seemed to be effortless for him. I look forward to hopefully seeing him play the next four years.
  7. Your right Kenny Turner was established, but went 0 and 10 his last year at Madison Central and underachieved while at Central. He had good teams and even once ranked number 1 but never could do squat in the playoffs. I'm not on here bashing Coach Yeast, I'm just saying there are several young coaches who have put in several years who never get their shot because because they don't have "name" power. High schools many time think they need names to draw interest in their program, when really the hard working assitants never get the opprotunity they deserve. I heard there were capable assistants on the Bryan Station staff who wanted the job, but weren't the "right fit" because they hadn't proven themselves. From what I have been told from coaches at Washington Co. and Marion Co. Yeast many times thought it was his right to run the ship and tried to on a couple of occasions only to leave on not a good note in both places.
  8. Coach Clark will not be teaching but he will be in the building. Former Marshall QB Jimmy Skinner has already taken a special education position, and word is they are getting rid of a teacher in order for him to coach. My son has been working out with the team at 6:30 A.M. The funny thing is that its really the same kids that have always played so I think struggles could still continue for the Eagles.
  9. This kids broke 1000 points the other night, is a flat out shooter, and last year college coaches were all over him since his team was winning. Now his team is not winning and the college scouts seem to be backing off a little. This guy gets triple teamed and teams just guard him and he still scores. People better take a look at this kid, cause he has a lot of skill and could really help a team at the next level. Any thoughts?
  10. Bryan Station may again be a laughing stock! Bryan Station just doesn't seem to understand football. The talent in that school is unbelieveable, but talent without a proven coach who has a good track record will take talent and mismanage and that is what Bryan Station does. I hope Coach Yeast does well, but I really believe he is in over his head. His name got him this job and that is fine I guess, but that will only take you so far. Coach Yeast needs to bring in coaches who have coached at the high school level, cause highschool kids are not pros. Fundamentals are the key and most coaches who come from college or the pros take those things for granted. Good Luck Coach Yeast, you'll need it!
  11. Coach Feldhaus should be ashamed of himself for getting thrown out of this game. He saw early that his team would get beat and wanted no part of it, or at least that is what it seemed like. I don't know what kind of team Central really is, are they the team that beat Mason Co. twice this year, or are they the team that has to squeak by Madison Southern and get beat soundly by Pulaski. Coach Feldhaus is a tremendous coach, but I think his time may be up at MCHS. I have heard from several parents that this team does not play together and that players at times have openly bickered with each other on the court. He has been there for about 15 or so years wonder if he may leave. Any thought?
  12. Dawson is heading to USC...Kiffin wins again...Unbelievable!
  13. He will be in the building, but not as a teacher. I was told this by the A.D. Doug Sallee that Coach Clark does not have a teaching certificate, I don't know if he will be working on one or what, but he will not be teaching. He'll probably be the detention guy or something I guess.
  14. Not kidding, he has an assistant that will be in the building teaching I think he was the OC at Lawrence Co. Coach Skinner? Anyway, outside of that I'm not sure who his staff will be.
  15. Not really, because he will not have a teaching position.
  16. Word from kids is that he is going to be an assistant at Madison Central.
  17. This is what is WRONG with Madison Southern football. People are already trying to set him up for failure and he hasn't even met his team yet. Let the guy see what he can do, he is only 32 I think so I'm sure he is full of energy and ready to get this show on the road. Give him time first and then come to a conclusion. I know I have written some negative things on here because Southern has not had their act together the last three years. Let clean the clate and see what happens. GO EAGLES...and welcome Coach Clark!
  18. All of this is true, I spoke with him last night and the basketball game. I just hope he can relate to kids better than Brumley did. Brumley was a good guy but he was so serious all the time and the kids never really related to him. I hope Coach Clark all the luck in the world and that he can turn things around at Southern.
  19. Central is still a year away and they will be REALLY hard to beat next year for sure.
  20. The weight program has been started by Coach Busler and Coach Tipton. Both of those guys are assistants, Busler was a long time assistant but did not coach this past year, and Coach Tipton is a young guy who has been a staff for the last two or three years.
  21. Central is very inconsistent. I have seen them play three times this year and they look a little unorganized and outside of Dominique nobody really seems to know their role on the team. My son and I went and watched them play Mason Co. last time and Central played good defense, but against Clark and Madison Southern they seemed lost at times. I would say Coach Feldhaus will have that changed by the time Regions roll around.
  22. Southern is underrated, they only play about 6 or seven kids and they play about as fast as possible. Whoever said that they are dangerous when they shoot three's is right, but also if they are not hitting they can struggle with weaker teams at times. Coach Buttry does a very good job with the limited talent that is there. I think that Aaron Ponder could play at a school like EKU or about that size and be a very valuable player. Woodford Co. had too much size for Southern and in the end that is what beat the Eagles. Good win Yellowjackets!
  23. Madison Southern Luke Stocker-2006 Tennessee is also rated as the 4th best TE in the country in this year's draft class! Rico Brown-2010 WKU
