Looks like a blow-out, Madison Central had 13 players score. NKY teams just don't fare well when they leave the confides of NKY.

Central has been having a pretty good year. There is a lot of young talent on this team and they just might make some noise in the 11th.

Haven't been keeping up with alot, seems like Drew Baker is disappearing. Any thoughts?

No... I say they'll quickly dismiss this loss from their thoughts and just slide back into what their focus has been of late. They undoubtedly will be fired up for Holy Cross. How could they not be? Since the Dixie game they've been playing with more passion and purpose. Sure would've been nice if they had fared better against Madison Central, but I don't see it getting into their heads or in their way of getting back on track with their eye on the prize in the 9th. Let's admit it, sure you what your team to put forth an effort in every game and show toughness no matter what, but honestly who really cared about this game? That's no excuse, but last games of the regular season typically are pretty lame with everyone's eye on tourney time. I say that the Colonels will be o.k. and mentally ready for the Indians. No way they'd be anything else with countless Seniors aching to extend their careers.

Great passion & purpose losing by 25--Play some "D"???

 

Yes, The did lose this game. However there are other thngs that contributed to this loss. For one, Maschinot did not start and only played a few minutes. He was sick. Brett did not play much either. He has a sore ankle. Baker got in quick foul trouble, and he too played little minites. I do not know what Jake's minute total was, but he too did not play as many as normal. Connelly's minutes I think were down as well. Coach used the game to get others important playing time in a meaningless game. I woulda done the same thing. They did not play with the same passion and purpose they have been playing with. It was obvious to me even in warm-ups, they just wanted to get this game over with.

 

Not taking anything awa from Madison Central. They do have a good team. Thier student section was the most 'annoying' student section I think that Cov Cath has played in front of this year. There were no Crazies there, and the gym was relativel quiet. They were taunting the Colonels pretty good. Good experience for them. The other good experience that the Colonels got from this game was the officiating. Wow. I know many complain on here about the 9th region guys we have, but man, these guys from the 11th called a much different game. The crowd was getting on them pretty dang good. The colonels will learn from that as well.

Now I am not saying that one is wrong and one is right but both are suppose to use the same rule book! It has over the many years puzzled me, how the men in stripes from the 16 different regions, call so completely different games but still use the same rule book! It is how it is, so you must adjust.

 

Maybe you didn't know, or maybe you just chose to ignore the facts but Cov Holy Cross and Cov Holmes all laid an egg this week playing on the road too!

TOG...Didn't chose to ignore it but why would I comment on those teams misfortunes on a CovCath thread and I would think Holmes situation is a little different? I have been a huge supporter of CovCath on BGP all year and Jake Thelen is one of my favorite players. Just stating that I would be concerned if I were a CovCath fan.

 

As far as the officials if CovCath does make it to the regional tournament they will get the officials from that same association. Same guys who call the 10th and 11th regions.

The loss is not disappointing when you realize that your 2 PGs didn't play.

 

I will be concerned if I hear that both cannot play against Holy Cross. Until then.....

I would be more concerned in the fact that Baker has disappeared since early January and the guards dont seem to be completely healthy. Sickness is all over the area and it isnt a 24-48 hr virus in most cases. These things can drag out trust me I am living it.
