I was thinking it was Mr.Dawsons to lose..Congrats young man now sign with the Cats!!

I'm no football guru, but I thought all along that Mr. Dawson would receive the award. Congratulations!

Congrats!

I'd like to see a breakdown of the 13 votes.

I would as well.

I'd like to see a breakdown of the 13 votes.

Are there only 13 votes? I know of one for Parker and one for Dawson. That is all I know though. Plus, if there are only 13 why can't they name Mr. Football the Monday after the finals? I can get 13 votes by telephone.

Shameful that only 13 of the possible 20+ cared enough to vote in my opinion.

Congratulations to Lamar Dawson. I'm even more impressed with him after hearing Coach French speak about him as a person and student at the Hornung Player of the Year luncheon where he shared the award with our DeVante Parker. He's a heck of a football player and I'll look forward to following what I know will be a very good career. Most importantly, he sounds like someone who will represent our state as a person with character that'll make us proud he's a Kentuckian, wherever he chooses to attend college.

Congrats to a top notch athlete and, more importantly, an all-around top notch person!!

My vote still would've went to DeVante coach.

Congrats to Dawson. He or Parker either one would have been a fine representative for the award.

I didn't see a breakdown from areas but I thought I read where Lamar had 7 votes.

From the Article:

Dawson received seven votes from the panel of over a dozen media members across the state. Ballard (Louisville) wide receiver DeVante Parker, Bell County linebacker John Dudley Hilton, Pulaski County running back Alex Abner and Christian County wide receiver Marcoreyon Tandy also received votes.

If 13 votes were cast, then the other 6 were split up among the four mentioned above. My educated guess would be that Tandy, Abner and Hilton all received a vote from an area rep. That would leave 3 at most for DeVante.
