Say whatever you want to.....I know Mr. Football has more prestige to it but with all due respect to the AP voters this award he just won is more meaningful, IMO. The people who pick this award are respectfully knowledgeable about high school football throughout the state and work hard to present a case for each member selected to this team. I am proud of Lamar for earning this honor. Congratulations, Lamar on being named bluegrasspreps.com Player of the Year.

I saw on twitter that Boyle County has issued a press release stating that Lamar will announce at the school on February 2 at 9am. He will be choosing from UK, USC, Oregon, Tennessee and Central Florida. Florida has been eliminated apparently.

I hope that Rocky Top is one song I do not hear for atleast the next 4 years. I'd still have a hard time cheering for the Orange. Still think UK is the leader followed by Oregon and USC.

My thought is: as an incoming freshman, seeing how willing Tennessee was this season to play freshmen, I think he will chose Tennessee.

It's 2 weeks (14 days) until we will know for sure. Feb 2 "Ground Hog Day" is the day of the announcement.

 

I hope Lamar does not see his shadow and decide to put if off another 6 weeks. :lol:

Plus, I just can't figure out how any kid with multiple "Big" offers and a chance to play in the NFL would say, "Hey, I want to go to UK to play football". But, that's just me. Tennessee will be a contender this coming year and may very well win it in two and three years.

Unfortunately Lamar has stated that how much a school wins or their tradition will not play a part in his decision. He is going to go where he feels he can play right away. That's why he would go to UK. I hope he goes anywhere besides UK or UCF so I can see him play an be a factor in a BCS bowl but that it not as important to him as it is me so I figure he will be a Wildcat. Hopefully UT has room for him to come in and play right away and he'll go there. UT is only going to continue to get better. UK will never be better than what they are now. He has won at every level. It'd be a shame to watch him play on a defense that will get shredded by schools he could have played for. Either way it goes I will continue to root for him regardless of where he chooses. Just hope he leaves the state. PLEASE!!!!!!!

It is not just you. It is everyone who can logically look at this situation without blue tinted glasses on. The pressure he is getting to choose UK that he faces in Boyle County is nonstop. Even little 9 year old boys are asking him to go to UK.

A website named http://www.fvsports.com is reporting via twitter that UK is out of the running for Lamar Dawson. They say it will be USC, Oregon or UT. I sent a message to Larry Vaught asking to confirm this and have yet to get a reply.

 

The guy married to his mother seems to think he will go to Central Florida.
