I think a lot depends on who got the most out of the off week practice. We Boyle fans would like to think that our young team in age and experience would greatly benefit, especially with the progress the Rebels made the last three games. I do like the fact that both teams had a bye week. Garrard's body of work is not bad, but I think BC's schedule is tougher. I like Boyle by 38-7.

I like the improvement that the young Boyle team has made, but they still have to improve much more these next two weeks to be in this conversation. They have to go to Lexington Catholic also, which is never easy anytime. Don't be lulled to sleep by LC's 1-5 record. They have played a tough schedule. If BC keeps improving by the end of the year I expect them to be a tough out in the playoffs. Could be a year away from being where we expect them to be. Their coaches are certainly not overlooking Garrard or Western Hills either. They then have to go to Dunbar for the final regular season game.

The final touchdown was from 22 yds by the 3rd QB of the night Boyle had used and the 2nd freshman QB. There is not much difference between putting up 50 or 57. Young players need the chance to show what they can do whether on offense or defense. The young players don't learn much by taking a knee the last few downs of a one sided game. Even the LC players on defense at that time wanted a chance to show that they could make plays. I wouldn't blame Coach Smith because the LC defenders couldn't tackle a freshman QB 20 yds from the goal line on that play. The player, Grant Hotchkiss had as much right to show what he could do as did the LC players who were trying to score right until the end of the game when they had the ball.

Not only are the starters for Boyle better, their depth is also. I saw their JV's beat Lincoln 48-0 Monday and it could have been worse. Playing at Boyle will also make it much more difficult for the Patriots. Rebels will continue to get better.

I think Lincoln is a good 1-4 team, but Boyle is a much better 2-3 team. I like BC at 42-7.

The Rebels beat a good undefeated 5A team that had 2 weeks to prepare for them. They still have a lot of work to do on defense but that will happen in time with the talent they have. Collins was the type team that has given them the most trouble in the past with their spread out passing attack. They had put big scores on people their first 3 games, it is no disgrace to give up 30 to them. Boyle has a lot of offensive weapons of their own and will only get better. Great win. Should continue to see this improvement against Lincoln next week. they still have a lot of work to do on defense

Happy for the Patriots and Travis after losing so many close ones.

From what I see there is no violation by Coach Smith or Boyle County, only Mr. Tamme. He is up for re-election this fall and has opposition. The voters in his district will then decide. All this may become a moot point if he is defeated. Many of the comments seem genuine on this post. On the other hand I see many that are sour grapes because they are not lucky enough to have Chuck as their coach and of course the frustrated comedian trying to be funny. I think Chief Smoke said it best in his comments. As for Boyle starting out with 3 losses, that happens to other good programs as well. Boyle has some of the best young talent that they have ever had and will be a state contender for years to come, so I wouldn't say too much, especially if I had to play them.

It is the home teams responsibility to report the correct score. I know we see scores maybe off by 1 point, but 8 points? Looks like this was intentional. When you are so soundly beaten with a running clock, why submit a false score?

The final score was 41 to 13. Anderson scored against the BC 2nd and 3rd teams . I don't know where the other score came from. Boyle completely dominated as it was 24 to 0 at the half. Anderson kept their starters in the entire game even against the Boyle freshmen. They even called timeout with 14 seconds left trying to score again, but did not. I thought their coach was really grasping at straws. Boyle was much improved as young teams should do. Good win.

I pick Marion Co. in this one . I think the coaching change was such a positive move. There seems to be more excitement about MC football than there has been for a long time. I know one win doesn't make a season, but in this case it probably means a lot. I always thought MC had good talent, but the chemistry just didn't seem to be there. I think that has changed.

By taking a look at their first game scores, I would give the edge to SW. I know Larue co. has been pretty weak lately while J-ville is usually tough. Look for a good game with SW on top.

If Lafayette or anyone else is going to win big against Boyle it will be early in this season. I think the Rebels will improve a great deal with every game. Then starting next year no one will look forward to playing them. I know Lafayette is tough, but look for a much closer game than everyone expects.

This will be more like a home game for Boyle, just 10 minutes travel time. North Hardin on the other hand has 1 hr and 30 mins to travel. That can at times make a slight difference. Looks like a toss up as far as a favorite. I will take BC in a close one.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet because this very young and inexperienced Boyle team lost to a veteran 6A team where the game was closer than the final score indicated. I will say if Danville doesn't win this year, it will be some time before they have as good an opportunity. There is no reason yet to think they are better than Boyle. These kids will have two more games to get experience and improve before they even have to think about Danville.

You are going to see many of the younger kids playing a much larger role on this team starting with next week. Reese smith must be on the field both ways most of the time. Offense was a little disappointing, but you can expect that with a lot of new faces and trying to use two QBs. Crawford has to be in the backfield. He runs forward every time, many times making something out of nothing. Defense was pretty good with the exception of those two pass plays. JVs looked good. We have many good young players and two exceptional freshmen QBs. I thought overall Tiller played pretty well in spite of some missed blocking assignments with his protection breaking down. I think our receivers will be very good and can run after the catch. We do have speed in those spots.

I meant that Lanter would be in the mix for the QB position starting with the 2017 season. He certainly needs to be mentioned along with the other four freshmen to be listed in the earlier thread.

I don't think he will be ready this year, but the Lanter kid will be QB of the future from what I have seen. Be aware of him starting in 2017.

Unforced turnovers, bad decisions with the ball, poor shooting. I am surprised that there were only 17 TO's. I know one player alone had 10. Boyle did hustle and fight which is about all they had going for them. Two really bad calls against Colton, one on a goal tending call 10 feet from the basket and the other on a block where he caught the ball in both hands without touching the shooter that led to the technical on the coach. These two plays cost Boyle 7 or 8 points.

Where will the conference tournament be played? When does it start? Does anyone have the pairings? Who plays who?

I saw Boyle Middle beat Anderson by about 15 on Monday, so a big turn around.Then they beat Danville Bate by about the same amount on Thursday.

NH has great quickness. The young guards from Boyle should gain from this experience. I don't think they will play a team with more speed the rest of the season. It will be a building process, game by game for this team. They have a tough schedule.

Any win is good. Important to win your first game. A very ragged performance. Boyle will get better as the season progresses and they get Josiah back in the lineup. The young guards will get better with experience and they realize that you have throw the ball high to your really good 6ft 8inch center, not down low where anyone can get to it, regardless of size. Josiah will also provide a serious outside threat that will make Colton much more effective. Boyle can be much better than people realize in the last half of the season.
