Not a good time to play Boyle. Ballard plays a tough schedule, but in watching practice this week, I couldn't believe how hard the Rebels were going at each other, especially in this hot weather.

To people that have never won anything it might not. To those who expect to win every year it is known as tradition and pride.

Like it or not. The rest of 4A knows that they have to go thru Boyle County to win come December. They also they know that they will see a totally different team on the field from what we saw on Friday. You can go thru all the feel good scenarios you want to, but in the end it all comes down to how good you can compete against the team that has won 5 out of the last 6 years and the coach responsible.

Not only is Seneca a D1 commit, he is listed as a 5 Star recruit. He makes such a difference on both sides of the ball. Boyle will be around in December to take on the best of the rest. Boyle was missing some other key players last night as well as the QB not at full strength.

Boyle is a total different animal with Driver back on offense and defense. Then you have the other players that didn't play because of injuries, a healthy QB with this extra week off and the sting of a loss make the Rebels a very difficult opponent from here on thru the championship.

It is very clear that you don't know the entire situation that developed there. Of course you could not hear anything that was or wasn't said. Who the officials were and where they were from. Your use of" It's safe to assume", "his body language and gestures clearly don't convey" " ,that tells me" etc. that you are trying to create a negative picture of a kid in a very competitive situation that is only a conjecture on your part. There is more to this story that will come out later. after a hearing. Making a judgement about a kid on the field giving 100% on every play to help while watching a silent film is not what you or anyone else should place a lot of stock in. It seems. I am not saying that he was happy with what was going on with the officials and there was some reaction ,but at no time was he trying to play fast and loose with the rules. Only is your arrogance here overshadowed by your total lack of knowledge of this situation. Then trying to create an image about a great young man that is totally false to make yourself look impressive is terrible.

Telling the truth is not being defensive. Not agreeing with misguided optimism about beating 2 opponents that wouldn't rank in the top 75 in the state would not be a recipe for being a worthy opponent for Boyle ever again even if you don't consider the RPI. You made your bed, now lie in it. Caverna? How low can you go?

That was probably the weakest district in the state that year and when they played in the region they got destroyed.

Sorry to tell you Ads fans this but the rumor came from Pulaski County about Stoney applying for the job at Southwest. Then the idea that there is or will be any pressure from Boyle fans to include Danville on a future schedule does not make any sense. You are a 2A school and will always be unless you go to 1A. Even if you could be competitive against Boyle, which you are not even close, the RPI situation would keep the Rebels from adding Danville to the schedule. You need to try and compete in your district first. You can be competitive at the level you are in, especially playing one of the weakest schedule in 2A. I watched your game against KC and I have never seen a worst effort on defense by 2 teams ever. Boyle would put up 100 pts. against either one of you in a full 48 minute game if they wanted to. Wait until you play someone good before you drink any more of your own cool aid. You still have Caverna and their 14 players on your schedule, maybe, if they haven't cancelled their season, to try and set some kind of new record. As for Stoney being a great coach, I think he is doing a good job, but you have to win something big to be labeled as great. Winning a district would be a start.

That was just for the first half. I don't think he played in the last half. He did play well defensively too.

A few light years. Boyle is presently ranked 2nd or 3rd in the state over all and plays one of the toughest schedules in the state. With RPI being so important come playoff time, Playing 2A Danville makes no sense. Just because you can run up the score on a couple of the weakest teams in the state, with Caverna , a team with14 players at last count still on the schedule you want to think you can play with Boyle Not going to happen. Before Danville opted out the game had become really one sided and You had maybe a dozen fans following the Ads across town and most of those left at half. I think you need to concentrate on trying to win a district, more in your possible future right now. As far as fans wanting the game back. Danville maybe, Boyle fans don't even see the Ads as being relevant in the state football picture anymore and very few as a real rivalry game. As far as Stoney being at Danville for a few years there was a rumor he applied for the Southwest job this spring?

Yes this team has speed, but the fastest freshman Rebel was watching from the sidelines. Little John the state 100 meter champ in middle school last spring had an injury that required surgery during summer practice. He is doing fine in recovery but will not return to football until next season as a precaution. He will be 100% for the track season though. He is a joy to watch in both football and track.

Yes it is when you don't score more points than they do. Amazed that X had 75 freshmen dressed and Boyle 30.

Not really. Turner was only a freshman at Boyle. He did get some playing time, but was not in the running as the starting QB. If he had remained here he would have certainly have been playing somewhere in the starting rotation. As it worked out the QB situation at Boyle has worked out fine with Jhett taking over last year and now has turned out to be such a weapon for Boyle this year after leading them in their championship run last year. Turner was a starter his freshman year on the basketball team. I think both coaches felt like he had a bright future here. Always seemed like a great kid and team mate. Wishing him and his new team the best.

Football similar to life takes some strange bounces. Turner started at Boyle but left his soph. season missing out playing on two more really good teams and another state championship. Now looks like he has found a place where he can be successful on a good team with a good coach. At the same time, Lofton who was injured in his first game last year and missed the entire season at Somerset had surgery and enrolled at Boyle the second semester. Playing both ways now at Boyle, he had a nice game with four catches, one being a TD and did well on defense also in his first game back. Best of luck to both of these young men for the rest of the season.

Boyle took an early hit, did not fold like some teams would have. Played their game and beat a pesky and good OC team by a good margin. OC will be a tough out for many teams this season. Boyle will improve off of this game.

I think the scrimmage time has been moved to 7:00 pm.

From what I heard from a reliable source, Boyle was pretty dominant yesterday defense giving up only a couple of scores all day, Driver scored pretty much whenever he touched the ball. Pulaski was next showing up well. Glasgow and Rockcastle looked good at times but not as consistent as the other 2.

Boyle heads home from Jabez, after a morning practice today. Heard some good things coming out of practice there, heading home to get ready for the Atherton scrimmage on Friday at 6:00.

Four teams, Boyle , Glasgow, Pulaski and Rockcastle. They practice against each other in controlled situations. I don't think a full game scrimmage is allowed. I think the camp counts as one of their 2 allowed scrimmages.
