Hopefully when the "official RPI Rankings" come out they will have the RPI points that each school has like in previous years. Would be nice to see how close each school is with is each other.

Tilghman has a very tough matchup when they travel to Logan Co in 2 weeks. Other than that I'm not sure who can beat them in the regular season. Christian?

PT could be tough to catch in RPI if they get past Logan.

It is tough to predict at this point not seeing the gap between schools but I agree that PT will likely win out and finish very high.

Highlands can make up some ground but has 3 very difficult games remaining with Cov Cath, Elder (OH) and Scott County. The Birds have some nice RPI boosters on their remaining schedule including Cov Cath (4A #8), Scott County (5A #5) and even Mason County (4A #12). Pair that with the teams they have already played like Boyle, Frederick Douglass and even Cooper (5A #3) and Highlands has a shot to be at the top as well.

Boyle also has enough left on their schedule to get to #1. If their only blemish remains Highlands still having St. X and Frederick Douglass on their schedule, it seems like they could get there.

Cov Cath still has Beechwood and Highlands which will move the needle if they win. Not sure if their overall schedule would get them to the top.

Totally agree with what you've said here. One thing worth mentioning is a loss to Elder (OH) would be a back-breaker for their RPI. This has been discussed a lot here that the KHSAA ROI really punishes losses to (good) out of state teams.

5. Boyd County

6. Covington Catholic

7. Corbin

8. North Oldham

Is there anyone that can make this weeks RPI make sense lol ?

Strength of schedule to me is a clear non factor into RPI ? I'd love to hear some other opinions on this.

Love to know how Boyle can be ahead of Highlands?

Not sure how strength of schedule works but playing and losing to Elder(as CCH did) and Highlands may do, shouldn't hurt your RPI this year as long as it wasn't a total blowout.

I looked thru the other sports on the RPI tab, and both girls soccer and volleyball have the math associated with the rankings. I'm guessing that football's math will populate soon.

The fact that Boyle is ahead of Highlands in the RPI just proves how messed up the RPI is in this state. Also playing a top team in the state of Ohio should get you points even if you lose, and if you win, you should get a boat load of points.

Points for losing?!

As far as I know you get points even if you lose a game in Kentucky, kind of like a strength of schedule deal. Out of state games that are lost get you 0. Losing by a few score to the top rated team in a football state should get you more points than beating the worst team in Kentucky. Doesn't make any sense.

If you lose a game in state you get a 0 that factors into your winning percentage. Your opponents win percentage (OWP) is whatever it is, your opponents opponents win percentage (OOWP) is whatever it is.

If you lose a game to an out of state team you get a 0 that factors into your winning percentage. Your OWP is .500, and your OOWP is also .500.
