gchs_uk9 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Boyle County and North Hardin square off on Saturday at Mercer County's bowl game. Boyle lost quite a bit from last season, though should still be strong. North Hardin has higher expectations than in recent years. Who wins?
Big Saucy Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I think North Hardin pulls the upset in this one. I might be wrong, but it might not be an upset. They very well could have the best team. North has a very seasoned Qb who will give many teams fits. North wins 35-28.

charlesw88 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 ^^^ I second this. Boyle County has expectations every year because of who they are and deservingly so. This year is no different. However, this is very young team who will need some games under their belt. So as @PurplePride92 stated, they may take some lumps early on in the season. I'm just glad they are getting a great test of a team like North Hardin. Could be a good one.
Country Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 This will be more like a home game for Boyle, just 10 minutes travel time. North Hardin on the other hand has 1 hr and 30 mins to travel. That can at times make a slight difference. Looks like a toss up as far as a favorite. I will take BC in a close one.
WestDanville Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Always hate to vote against the Rebs but going to have to say NH wins this one. North Hardin's spread offense will likely give Boyle fits. Especially seeing an offense like this the first game of the year. I'm not sure what NH's defense has to offer but I know Boyle will have to get it going on the ground in order to take pressure off the new QB(s), put points on the board and to keep the NH offense off the field. I like the 35-28 score posted above. I sure do hope I am wrong though!
dognation Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Boyle will have to score a lot of points in this one. Bankhead and that offense will roll. He is a very seasoned and accurate QB. Jay Pitre on the outside at about 6'5 makes things that much worse. North will roll in this one; too early in the season for Boyle to figure out that offense.
Jack Lambert Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 After watching the scrimmage I think Boyle's defense is ahead of their offense North may win but I don't think they'll score 35 points on Boyle I think the winning team scores 21 to 24 points .
Jack Lambert Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 After seeing that North went 4-8 last year and gave up 33 points a game while only scoring 26 points a game I'll take Boyle for the win.
PurplePride92 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 After seeing that North went 4-8 last year and gave up 33 points a game while only scoring 26 points a game I'll take Boyle for the win. Did you see their schedule last year?
Jack Lambert Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Did you see their schedule last year? Yes.
PurplePride92 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yes. Just wondering. After seeing their schedule it was easy for me to see why they went 4-8 and gave up 33 points a game. That was likely one of the tougher schedules in the state last season.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 I think this game comes down to the wire, just like last year's Boyle/Central Hardin game. I suspect a final score around 24-21, with Boyle winning.
Jack Lambert Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 You are right PP North did play a strong schedule last year.
Jack Lambert Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Does Mercer have their new turf field done at Harrodsburg's old field and will the games be played there?
