I hope Boyle continues to improve and gets another win Friday night.

Garrard's Offense doesn't match up well against Boyle's defense. Not many teams can run on Boyle. Got to beat them through the air. I'm taking Boyle in this one by 21 or more.

Offensively, Garrard averages 260 rush yards and 41.5 pass yards per game.

 

I'm not sure if they cant pass the ball or do not need to pass the ball, but a one dimensional offense focusing on the run pretty much plays into Boyle's wheelhouse.

 

Maybe with a bye week Garrard is working on their passing attack.

I think a lot depends on who got the most out of the off week practice. We Boyle fans would like to think that our young team in age and experience would greatly benefit, especially with the progress the Rebels made the last three games. I do like the fact that both teams had a bye week. Garrard's body of work is not bad, but I think BC's schedule is tougher. I like Boyle by 38-7.

I talked to a gentleman from GC last week and he said to me that they will run the ball and when you stop them they will line up and run it again. So I think they feel like they dont need to pass it because eventually they feel it will work. The current GC running back is built like the RB from lincoln and is currently the leading rusher in GC history. For those who know the history of GC football should note that is a pretty big deal for him given that they have had some pretty good runners in the past. I believe as you do in the fact that it will play right into BC wheelhouse and like lincoln a couple weeks back wont end well if they are one dimensional espically if that one dimension is the run.

Having only seen Boyle County once and not seen the post-Danville Boyle County Rebels the only question I have is can they withstand the physical pounding of a power running game for four quarters?

Your point is fair, but one big difference between the two is Lincoln only has one running back and Garrard has three. On the flip side, Lincoln does more with their quarterback than does Garrard.

Your are right on that, I just don't see Garrard running the ball that good on Boyle's D. I have been wrong before and you can ask my wife about that :ohbrother:. Not taking anything away from Garrard they have a good team and we all know what can happen on any given Friday night.

I think the Garrard will be able to run on Boyle for a while. The problem with a 3 yards and a cloud of dust O is that it leaves little room for error and turnovers and penalties will beat you in the end. If Garrards pass defense was a little better I would think they could make a game of it with the young Rebels. But it is not. If Sam and the Dline have a pretty good game it could be a long night for the Lions.
