I have watched it repeatedly. I simply do not see what you see in that when he is looking at the LEx Cath sideline there is 0 reaction from anyone other than the official. It human nature to react especially when you hear someone say something nasty towards you. There are several players from Boyle on that sideline at the time and several facing the Lex Cath bench but hey let's assume that its the 6'7" kid. This is the same game where there is video of a coach being well behind the coaches box and jumping up in excitement from a possible fumble but getting a sideline warning for and I quote "jumping at an official" which did not happen. Anyone can watch the live and even the hudl film but none of that replaces being there in the moment. Also let's not forget he is still in fact a kid and will/could have made a mistake.

Crazy to me that anyone mentions beefing up the schedule and then people take it to an extreme. It’s the people that want to keep all the cupcake games cause they have always been played that seem to do it. Simple solution is add one or two of the teams mentioned or someone similar. You don’t have to make an entire schedule full of contenders to make your team better.

So after reading through this I want to make sure I am tracking everything correctly. OC who has played for a state championship three straight season and played a tougher schedule but none of that matters because they didn't win it. Glasgow who didn't play as tough of a schedule and lost to UC who they shouldn't have lost to is equivalent to OC because they didn't win the title either? Am I tracking this correctly? Just want to add that the top 4 in RPI for 3A made the semi Finals. I believe giving your team the chance to be in the game is extremely important. OC has had a shot for 3 straight season while Glasgow hasn't even sniffed minus 2021 semi finals visit. But hey undefeated season is still pretty cool. Arnett knows what his team needs and will no doubt begin to schedule as he sees fit to benefit post season play. The argument that you have to play local or keep rivalries going will not benefit the program unless those teams can push you.

I would imagine it would take a significant number to lure him away from a team that returns most of their starters off a finals run. Now what that number is who knows for sure but I would guess it was a big one.

I can confirm this as well that Travis Burns was in fact contacted. Be very interesting to see what that offer was and just how much Pulaski values what Burns is building at PC.

For Boyle in my opinion it would be: 24' With the early exit to Cov Cath lead by Mr. Football would be at the top of the list. 18' Losing to Corbin in the semis with another excellent team also lead by Reese and a stellar junior class 19' Losing in the finals to JC lead by a Mr. Football candidate Reese Smith and that same stellar class as seniors. 04' Losing in the finals to Highlands lead by Brandon Smith and company. 24' Is one of the most talented teams in BC history reaching as high as 12th nationally and ended their season way to early for such a talented group. The two runner-ups had their shot and missed putting them lower than the 24' and 18' was closer than 24' with arguably a slightly less talented roster than 24'.

Crazy how that works. I didn’t say teams had to drop out of the KHSAA or that the juggernauts wanted them to but you did imply that I said those things. Either way I can promise this given the chance any team that isn’t up to par Arnett will drop as soon as he feels he can. The only reason he won’t is because he is told he can’t! Anyway back to Glasgow they will be a formidable force in 3A and a tough out once they get to the playoffs. Good luck to Arnett and the dawgs.

Then they or anyone else can’t complain when they get dropped or rivalry games don’t get played cause that’s what that coach or that team wanted to do. When Arnett decides to take the next steps towards a title which will include dropping mediocre teams, rivalry, or not the Glasgow faithful should support it cause that what he wants to do.

I missed where I said they shouldn't play sorry. I think what I actually did say was that they should play a 10 game schedule outside of the KHSAA which would allow them to play and then allow them not to play in the playoff. There is nothing I said that was a knock or thinking that powerhouses should be the only ones playing. However, your power house schools are going to eventually stop playing even in rivalries if they continue to be lopsided and non-beneficial. (Case in point Danville vs Boyle)

Teams with this mentality should opt out of KHSAA play and just play a 10 game schedule. If would free up post season play and everyone wins. But the flip side is most of them will get dropped. Serious contenders do not have time for "gotta play cause they aways have" games anymore.

This may have already been covered—and if so, I apologize—but after reading through several pages, I think this needs to be said. If the proposed model holds true (similar to the one originally shown by @theguru), it really doesn’t change much outside of 1A. Most champions or dominant teams are already capable of competing—and winning—in the class above them. But if you move those teams up while also removing the other top-tier programs from that class, the result is the same: someone new just becomes the dominant team. That doesn’t create competitive balance; it just reshuffles who’s on top. For example, if CAL moves to 4A but Boyle, Corbin, Franklin, PT, and others are also moved or removed, then CAL likely walks through 4A the same way they do 3A. The label changes, but the outcome doesn’t. If the intent is to make things more competitive, removing the other competitive teams defeats the purpose. In reality, most champions from this season would likely remain the same across classes, with 1A being the possible exception and 5A being Boyle. That doesn’t feel like meaningful reform—just reclassification without real impact.

Not sure on Jack Herron I have heard that he is still a little immature which is understandable as he is young. I believe that he missed a big early season 7v7 event for Glasgow. I am sure he will be fine but may need a few more growing seasons.

This 100%. It’s a certainty that Corbin wins based on that call which is crazy. They seem forget there are many aspect to the game other than just one call! Facts hurt peoples feelings!

The Boyle Cheerleaders clean up after the game. The amount of alcohol thrown away in the away sideline would shock most people. Lots of class pounding alcohol at a HS football game.

Hart has been tremendous the past two seasons and while the games have been a bit more competitive this year they are still a really good team. Coach Griffin does a great job getting his players ready and I believe that this Friday will not be any different. Glasgow on the other hand seems to be rejuvinated by new HC Jackson Arnett. For Glasgow this could all just be a honeymoon phase and if it is then I expect it to end on Friday. This should be a great game. Hart 28 Glasgow 20.

I have several great sources as well that say it isn’t. Including several white hats from across the state. It’s going down to being based on opinion and on Friday the guys in charge didn’t think it was illegal which is what mattered.

Just for further clarification for anyone who has disputed the formation. Here is a screen shot of the formation without Drakeford in the screen who we all know is standing near the sideline. You can see outside WR Schepman checking with the official stating he is on the line and he gets the thumbs up and never moves from that spot. Now if he is on then so is Driver which would put 7 on the line and 4 in the backfield which is a legal formation all day everyday in the game of football.

As I stated if you read the rule posted nothing that happened in that play was a violation of anything written in the rule. I am not stating an opinion I am stating facts. Zero call on the field because there was not violation. Has nothing to do with being a fan of either team just the play wasn't illegal.

None of those happened in that play. It was a timeout and as all teams do Boyle huddled on the sideline. When the ready to play whistle blew the team headed out to the ball with everyone passing the numbers. Nothing was said but Drakford for Boyle jogged to the sideline and stood with his back to the formation (which is completely legal). There was no pretend substitution and no one aided him in the play. Everything about it follows the rules that are in place. The fact that he got so wide Highlands lost him and yes turning aids in the losing part but that is also again a perfectly legal position to line up in.

Boyle plays them in MS but not varsity or jv. I don't think JV would be punching down. The biggest question I have overall is, how can we get the rivalry back to where it was? Have to start somewhere, might as well be the JV. If Danville were to be competitive and even beat a Boyle JV, it would stand to reason that in the future, they could be on track to do the same with the varsity.

This morning on the local radio show, Coach Justin Haddix of Boyle County discussed the Boyle JV having three open dates and being open to playing cross-town rival Danville. Recently, it was believed that Danville would not field a JV team, but recent social media posts show that they, in fact, do. Coach Haddix also pointed out on social media that JV coach Matt Bottom has reached out to Danville with no response. What do you all think should this once historic rivalry be renewed? Is the best way of seeing this game come back to a Friday night in the future by starting over at the JV level? How do we get the TITLE TOWN SHOWDOWN back on track?
