? ’Surging Scotties Welcome Raiders Back To The Scene Of 2023's Hail Mary’

One of the subplots to Hart County’s rise to prominence has been the recent conquests over their southern neighbors. The Raiders ended a 34 year drought in the series three years ago and haven't lost to the Scotties since, winning four straight, all by eight points or less. That includes the Jacob Shoulders game winning heave to the endzone two years ago. A sophomore then, Shoulders is still heaving passes for Hart as a senior.

Glasgow looks primed to reclaim the upper hand as they've climbed the polls behind a defense that ranks among the state's best, allowing just seventeen total points in five games.

Hart hasn't changed its modus operandi much. The Raiders have chewed up the turf with a potent ground game, netting them almost 320 yards per game.

There's the hook: Glasgow’s borderline impenetrable defense versus the relentless, kaleidoscopic offense of the Raiders, which has helped pave the way for the current four game streak over the Scotties. But Hart County hasn't seen a Glasgow defense dialed in like this in a quarter century.

NOT CLOSE - Glasgow wins 

I’d be stunned to see Glasgow drop this one. They snap the streak this year.

I didn’t think Hart had played a very tough schedule outside of a close loss to a quality Logan Co team. But since then they have close wins against some pretty weak teams in my opinion and then last week barely getting by Edmonson Co I have to admit gave me a lot of confidence going into this one. I don’t think Glasgow could get to a running clock in this game simply by how Hart plays however I do think Glasgow will win comfortably I'm thinking 28-7.

I’m with @Tkinslow after I saw they struggled with those Wildcats it made me less excited for this one in a competitive sense. Speed will be too much for the Raiders, I like the Scotties by a few scores.

These Raiders are still physical. Talking with their opponents, I have been told their line will get after it and will be super motivated having a former Scot on their team. Dogfight to the end would be my guess, throw talent spread out the window, this is a newfound rivalry ready for another iteration. Well run Wing Offense will keep it close even if the Defense shuts them down. Give me a tied ball game at halftime and a Special Teams big play by the Scottie’s before the floodgates open late! 

I think the physical style of Hart County may be too much for Glasgow this week. Griffin chose to stay at Hart for a reason. Glasgow defense gets some chinks in their armor this week and gives up more points than they have this season combined.. give me Hart Co with the win. 35-21. 

I think Barren County has come physical guys on their lines and Glasgow handled that fine.  I just think the Scotties have WAY too much speed and play making ability for Hart to handle this year.

That's why they play though!

He has had his hat in the ring for a few jobs over the past couple of years. I know he applied to Barren when the job was open before they hired Myers back in 2023-24, also interviewed for Glasgow & Meade Co. this past offseason.

If they are more physical than Barren I would be surprised I can’t see Glasgow’s defense giving up 35 points. Glasgow is far more physical then people give them credit ask Barren and Monroe.

Hart has been tremendous the past two seasons and while the games have been a bit more competitive this year they are still a really good team. Coach Griffin does a great job getting his players ready and I believe that this Friday will not be any different. Glasgow on the other hand seems to be rejuvinated by new HC Jackson Arnett. For Glasgow this could all just be a honeymoon phase and if it is then I expect it to end on Friday. This should be a great game. Hart 28 Glasgow 20.

It’s obvious Hart isn’t on the same level as the past two years but I think maybe the reason for the competitive games with weaker opponents might have a little to do with playing on the road every game, they will play their 6th straight road game of the season this Friday. Not sure how much that would affect a team but I’d think it wouldn’t help
