Cooper 37 Highlands 13
My thoughts and opinions for what they are worth. Cooper is a good team and played well tonight. Highlands doesn't appear to be in the same physical condition as in past seasons and they seem to lack a play maker. Randy Borchers has done a very good job at Cooper and Dale Mueller was no fool who's retirement was pretty well timed. Nice win for the Jags, it's always nice when NKY teams are able to play with the Birds. I fully expect a different looking Highlands team in a few weeks.

Twenhofel 27 Campbell County Middle School 25
Really suprised by this score. I was at the game until half time and CCMS was pretty much dominating the game. Austin Hammick (sp) #44 who is one of the Camels better players was injured the last play before half time. Did he not return in the 2nd half?

NKY MLB Players
He also hurt his arm and was not planning on playing baseball after high school. He only tried out as a walk on for UK because his roommate was doing so. He told me he had to borrow a glove for tryouts. I guess the rest is history. I used to work with him and would text him when I noticed that ESPN classic was airing a game that he is famous (Infamous) for. He was the starter for Mark Whiten's MLB record 12 rbi game in 1993. Larry is a pretty good guy and good humored about it.:lol2:

I like them, especially if the rest of their uniform is black with red accents.

This has been my favorite uniform posted so far. I love the mostly solid color (Helmet, jersey, pants) with one accent color look.

Grilling and smoking thread
I smoked 3 racks of ribs and a pork shoulder yesterday for a family BBQ. Smoked with apple wood, apple wood rub on the meat and some apple juice in the water pan. Turned out very good.

Highlands Fans: Are you concerned CovCath will start beating the Bluebirds now?
I don't really think it is any secret that the teams that have been able to win against HHS or at least be competetive typically run down hill at them. Partly because the defense that they run and partly because they typically play smaller and faster than normal players on the D-line. The problem for most teams is that you have to be disciplined enough to sustain long drives without, penalities, negative plays or turnovers. Most highschool teams can't do that.

I don't see his hire effecting things at Highlands at all. They will just keep doing what they do and the train will roll on. As a NKY football fan I'd love to see the rivalry become competetive again as it makes for some great football. I think the program that may have the most to fear by this is NCC. I think Eddie may just pull one or two kids a year from NCC to CovCath even if that is not his intention. One or two kids a year can really have a negative impact on a program the size of NCC's, especially if they are impact players.

Owensboro/Highlands (Class 4A Championship) Updates
It's more than adjustments, this isn't the same team that played the 1st half. The Birds continue to amaze.
