NKY MLB Players

MTGL and I were talking last night about NKY kids who made MLB.

 

He used Larry Leubers as the starting point. How many players since Larry graduated high school have made the bigs?

 

Berger is one.

Jason Johnson from Conner is another.

 

Are we missing any?

Don't know when Luebbers was but David Justice. He was born in Cincinnati but went to Cov Latin.

Good catch. Larry first appeared in 1993 and Hook appeared in 95.

Nate Jones from Pendleton County (White Sox)

 

Nate was recalled from AAA Charlotte back to the big club about a half hour ago. Glad to see he's made the comeback from TJ surgery.

Chris Snopek went to Harrison County -- I don't think I'd consider that NKY but it's 10th region. He played for the White Sox, I think.

Graham did. I believe he graduated 2002. Made his debut in 2009.

I think Chris Curley (Beechwood, I'll guess '05 or '06) is still in the minor leagues.

 

There are several from Lexington, but that wouldn't qualify (i.e. Ben Revere).

Runion from Boone County, not sure when he graduated. But he played at Duke and triple A ball for quite awhile.

Runion graduated in 90' from Boone. Played at duke. Then with Cleveland. I believe he played with the ageless one Bartolo Colon for a yr or 2 in AA and AAA. Great guy from a great family but like clyde said, he didn't get to the show.
