  4. It's time once again for the Kentucky All-A Classic, and as such it is also time for the BGP All-A contest. The format is simple. Pick the 8 first round winners and receive 1 point for each correct choice. Pick the 4 quarterfinal winners and receive 2 points for each correct choice. Pick the 2 semifinal winners and receive 3 points for each correct choice. Pick the champion and receive 5 points for the correct choice. There are 27 possible points. The first tiebreaker is the total number of points scored in the championship game. The second tiebreaker is time. The deadline is 8:00 AM, Thursday January 26. Entries posted after that time will not be considered for inclusion in the contest.   5. News and Notes: Not much changed this week as Trinity remains #1 in the 7th Region despite losing two of their last three games. Trinity lost to Fern Creek in overtime in the finals of the Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT) and then dropping a tight game to Oldham County. Trinity is still currently the class of the 7th Region and have likely moved on from these past two losses. Ballard made it to the semifinals of the LIT where they lost to eventual champion, Fern Creek. Despite that loss Ballard is till lurking in the shadows of Trinity. At this point of the season the only way Ballard and Trinity will face each other would be in the 7th Region tournament. Waggener lost to Trinity last week and will face Ballard this upcoming weekend. Regardless of these results Waggener has a strong grasp on the #3 spot in the 7th Region. I recently saw on twitter that Steve Bittenbender stated that Waggener's Jaago Kalakon may be the best high school player in Louisville that few people know. Eastern has won 9 of their last 11 games and could possibly be setting themselves up to make a deep run in the postseason by starting to put things together on the court. Louisville Collegiate and Kentucky Country Day are the favorites of this year's 7th Region All A tournament. I do believe that one of these two teams will represent the 7th Region at the All A State Tournament but as we all know that when it comes to high school basketball in the state of Kentucky.................nothing is ever guaranteed. 7th Region Rankings: 1.   6. News and notes: Adair County is still rolling along as they have won 10 games in a row. Adair County is 18-1 overall, 12-0 against 5th Region teams and 4-0 in the 20th District. Bardstown is still Bardstown and they are currently 7-0 against 5th Region teams and 5-0 in the 19th District. At 13-4 overall Bardstown is still a strong threat to win the 5th Region championship this season. John Hardin has won 6 games in a row and is looking to be one of the hottest teams in the 5th Region at the moment. Huge game against North Hardin looms on the horizon for John Hardin to make a statement to the 5th Region after a shaky start to the season. Taylor County had the biggest win of the week with a 71-66 victory over North Hardin. While many people weren't sure what to expect from Taylor County this season their recent success is not surprising to anyone. North Hardin began the season as the #1 team in the 5th Region along with Bardstown. While they have stumbled recently they are still very much a strong and talented team capable of winning the 5th Region. Do not sleep on North Hardin because of their recent slip ups. Fort Knox had the second biggest win of the week with a HUGE upset over Bethlehem in the 5th Region All A Tournament. Fort Knox then defeated Caverna and if I am not mistaken they will face Campbellsville in the finals of the 5th Region All A Tournament. Salute and good luck to the kids at Fort Knox! Kel Stotts recently became the second person in the history of the state of Kentucky to score 1,000 points at two different schools. Stotts has now scored 1,000 points at Adair County and he scored over 1,000 points while at Russell County.
