PurplePride92
News and Notes: Not much changed this week as Trinity remains #1 in the 7th Region despite losing two of their last three games. Trinity lost to Fern Creek in overtime in the finals of the Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT) and then dropping a tight game to Oldham County. Trinity is still currently the class of the 7th Region and have likely moved on from these past two losses. Ballard made it to the semifinals of the LIT where they lost to eventual champion, Fern Creek. Despite that loss Ballard is till lurking in the shadows of Trinity. At this point of the season the only way Ballard and Trinity will face each other would be in the 7th Region tournament. Waggener lost to Trinity last week and will face Ballard this upcoming weekend. Regardless of these results Waggener has a strong grasp on the #3 spot in the 7th Region. I recently saw on twitter that Steve Bittenbender stated that Waggener's Jaago Kalakon may be the best high school player in Louisville that few people know. Eastern has won 9 of their last 11 games and could possibly be setting themselves up to make a deep run in the postseason by starting to put things together on the court. Louisville Collegiate and Kentucky Country Day are the favorites of this year's 7th Region All A tournament. I do believe that one of these two teams will represent the 7th Region at the All A State Tournament but as we all know that when it comes to high school basketball in the state of Kentucky.................nothing is ever guaranteed. 7th Region Rankings: 1.
