This is doubtful, mainly because i've seen plenty of South Carolina teams and most of them play terrible team ball.

Agreed the '07 Scott County team did something that hadn't been done in a very long time running the table with state competition. And that was a very talented Ballard team they beat in the finals. Also throw in the '08-'09 Scott County team who only had two losses and climbed to number 5 in the country after winning the city of palms, they lost both games to Ballard however after beating them twice that year too, and of course the one loss was for the state title. And of course that same Ballard team was nationally ranked too after the state title and were ranked nationally the following year.

Tamron Manning played on the varsity team last year for Scott County last year and did see plenty of playing time. I'm not sure if he was still playing for the eigth grade team though.

Okay , Elliott County fans , I said if you won one of these two games this week you would get my respect. Knocking off Ballard and Mason in the same week and doing it pretty handily is a great job. You have my repsect now and I'll be pretty excited to see Elliott play in the State, I'm pretty sure you can go ahead and punch your ticket there.

I'm thinking Franklin County and Tates Creek have given Scott County the most trouble this year. It's always gonna be a tight game at Lexington Catholic and on a neutral court Scott County will have a little bigger edge than last night's game. That being said, good win for Scott County, it's always a battle in that game and to win at Lex. Cath. is always a good win.

Maybe im biased but this is without a doubt the biggest rivalry game in the state. These are the two most hated teams in the state and the hatred between the two teams is insane. If you could only make it to one game all year this would have to be it, the atmosphere is what Kentucky high school basketball is all about. This game has a tendency to be close even if the matchups aren't all that even, there's only been a few big victories in this series. With that said, i'll take Scott County by 9 in another good Scott County/ Lexington Catholic battle.

Just because you beat someone in a head to head matchup doesn't mean you get to be ranked ahead of them, maybe Corbin is better than Lex Cath. but they don't play the same schedule so I would quit complaining about that. Trust me I'm not defending Lex Cath. in any way here either. As far as the Boone Co. thing goes that was a great win and they may be a good team, but you don't just come flying into the top 10 because of one win. I'm sure Holmes is getting everyone's best shot every game this year so it was very possible that one of the decent 9th region teams would knock them off.

Let's also remember that Manning doesn't play freshman or even JV ball.

The pace of the Ballard/Elliott game should have zero effect on Ballard. This is a team that plays some of the most athletic teams in the state and continuously performs well. I don't know whats gonna happen next week, but playing this kind of competition against two of Kentucky's best programs is going to be a major task. If they come away from this 1-1 i would be impressed and give them the credit they deserved.

I'm from Scott County and I would have to agree with Eta, if anything is gonna bring Scott County down its gonna be there lack of depth. However, those first 5 are so good and if they are really playing hard they're gonna be tough to stop. As far as last night goes, I think both teams looked a little sluggish from not playing an actual game for over a week. While some of the posters are right, there is a chance that Franklin could knock off Scott County along with a couple other 11th region teams, there's also the possibility that if Scott is playing there "A" game they could run over the region by 15-20 in all 3 games.

Way to go Holmes, it's always nice to see Kentucky teams ranked.

I know these two teams play every year but I wouldn't call it much of a rivalry game. I don't think the Scott County fans look at this game every year as a big one like Franklin County probably does. Scott County by 15.

Wow, this is one incredibly low scoring game. Is this because of defense or just an extreme lack of offense by these two teams?

So maybe at the beginning of the year when Scott County wasn't meshing together yet, Jackson didnt look as good as the two Holmes stars, but right now he looks like the best true point guard in the state. Also, he's an extremely versatile player , he can play the point , or go post a man up. He scores at will when he feels like since no one can really defend him and hes the most unselfish player on the team. I'll eat my words if i'm wrong but Chad Jackson is gonna be the best college player out of this junior class. Who doesn't want a point guard as good and as smooth as this guy. His size and build is great for this position too. I guess only time will tell, but on a team loaded with talent, Chad Jackson has started rise above the rest of the team and he will be the key to Scott County's run at the state title.

Well anyone who has been watching Scott County would know that while Dakotah may not be the best player on the team he is the best shooter unless Austin Flannery can ever get his confidence up high enough to ever be able to shoot during a game. So this isnt a big suprise, it was fun to see Dakotah have a good game though tonight.

Let's just hope for the sake of the a good saturday game that the 7th, 9th, and 11th aren't all bracketed right together.

Chad Jackson showed his strength late in this one, once again it just seems like when he feels like taking over a game he's able to do it with ease. Good hard fought win Scott County. Also, number 32, i guess that's Tyler Rogers, this kid looked really good.

Like i said before the game, when these teams meet it's always a blowout for someone. Great game Scott County, this is what happens when these guys really come to play and work together. Also Chad Jackson looked so smooth tonight, i think when he's playing well its gonna be hard for anyone to defend him.

This should be a great game, I see it coming down to the wire, but it always helps to have the home crowd behind you in a tight game. Mason County by 3.

This is nothing against Elliot County they obviously have a great team, but they didnt win that tourney, they won the consolation bracket.

This should be a close one but it seems like every time these two teams get together, one team wins by 15+ points. I can't figure out why other than both teams play styles that allow for large spurts and can become reliant on 3's at times when trying to catch up. I want to take Scott County by ten but it just depends on whether or not they're prepared to play. This is turning into a great rivalry game, the energy level will be high tomorrow night.

This i agree with, it's hard to argue with Billy Hicks numbers. Then, Champ Ligon is a great coach for what hes done at Bryan Station and for the teams he put together at Shelby County. What a mistake they made letting this guy go.

I will have to give Mason County a lot of credit tonight, im a Scott County fan and if you guys aren't condsidered the best in the 10th by now there's something wrong. Seeing that Scott has played both Mason and Clark, you guys clearly have the edge especially with a player like Russ Middleton that can clearly just take over a game. Also, hes not gonna have to play the entire game against Clark County which im guessing is one of the reasons he had trouble at the line tonight.
