Well, with the weakness of this poll, I can find some quick errors.

 

I don't think Holmes belongs at #8 (surely few others think they do).

 

Even though I am an Elliott supporter, I can't see SV behind Elliott. They only experience we had with them this year didn't go our way.

 

I really look FWD to the post-season.

Holmes is ranked 8th and has 5 wins over the current top 25 and only 2 losses on the year.

Shelby Valley is ranked 3rd and unless I am mistaken only has 1 win over a top 25 team.

Scott Co. is ranked 2nd and has 10 wins over other top 25 teams.

Elliott Co. is ranked 1st and only has 3 wins over top 25 teams. I would also guess that Elliott hasn't played anyone else who would be considered a top 50 team in Kentucky.

I don't think he has seen Elliott play or know much about them. South Charleston would be top 50 as well.

I don't think these polls count out of state games. I think everyone knows Scott County is number one in the state.

I really can't argue the fact that Scott County is #1 in the state. Elliott had a great week last week but Scott did nothing to get knocked out of first. Elliott deserves to be second because of the margin of wins that they had. They rebounded very nicely since the Valley loss and got punished through the rankings. Even though Valley beat them, when you beat two top 8 teams by 14+ you have to give credit to them. Shelby Valley is the most impressive team I have seen this year but it was Elliott's one let down that was made up. Shelby Valley just doesn't have that many signature wins versus Elliott County's (now we can say that).

I think there is definitely more than one 11th region team that is top 10, probably 3 or 4 of them. But everyone in the region keeps beating each other so it forces teams to drop in the computer rankings.

I am talking about in Kentucky. I am not factoring in out-of-state teams. I know Holmes, Scott Co, and Franklin Co. have all played some very tough teams out of state. And yes I have seen Elliott Co. play 3 or 4 times this year.

I believe the most mind-boggling thing is Holmes dropping to 8th. Which in a computer system I can see a slight drop because they usually have low-scoring games with teams from their region and don't blow out a lot of people.

I think that Holmes and Ballard should switch spots if anything. I would have to agree Holmes is too low.

According to the Massey Ratings, Southside (SC) is the #1 team in South Carolina. They are a Class 2A school with a rating of 2.12, which would be good enough for #6 in Kentucky. Elliott beat Southside by 9 points.

 

Myrtle Beach (SC) has a ranking of 0.93, which would be good for 62nd in Kentucky. Elliott beat them by 7 points.

 

They lost to Cedar Hill, Texas by 10 points, which Massey says is the #4 team in all of Texas -- all classes. Their rating of 2.58 would make Cedar Hill the number one team in Kentucky.

So what about Franklin Co, Holmes, and Scott Co? They all played tough out-of-state teams. Is the out-state-teams being factored into the polls? Even so though, it still doesn't seem like their schedule stacks up with some others.
