These rankings are as bad as the BCS that football uses! Doesn't mean anything, don't know why people argue about what a computer says, it can't watch the games and compare match ups and so on. We all know that Scott County is the definite #1 team in Kentucky. Elliott didn't even win the All A, they should not be #1. Top 5 Should be something like, Scott county #1, Holmes #2, Eastern #3, Shelby Valley #4, Elliott #5, but of course this is just my opinion though. Doesn't mean much though, the players still have to play the games. Good luck to all of them.

Neither did Paintsville win they won the 96' state championship. I agree with your top five accept Holmes because of the loss last week to Boone. They should be punished just like anyone else; I think they are a top five team but it's only fair.

I'm with you on both counts. They are just polls ! Still have to play them out!

I'm not going to get on here and bash this school or that school about where they're ranked, but I will say that Holmes being #8 is an absolute joke

 

According to Cantrall's rankings, Holmes is 6-2 against the top 25, including wins over both Scott Co and Ballard who are ahead of them. I believe Scott Co is the only team in the state with more top 25 wins this year.

 

Holmes opponents have combined for a 382-229 record. No other team in the state has played a schedule whose opponents have combined for that many wins to date. McCreary Central is the only team that comes close with 366.

 

These ratings are the reason computer polls are looked down upon so much.

Trust me, I could care less about the Cantrall and Litkenhouse ratings. I was just responding to cat fan's comment about Holmes should be punished for a loss to a top 10 team on the road. You have to look at the overall body of work, and honestly Scott Co is the only team in the state with a more impressive resume than Holmes.

At least in Cantrells Ratings EC and SV will stay at the top because of margin of victory.

As an Elliott fan, I have to agree with you. No matter what went wrong (or right) in that game, SV won. I also agree that Holmes is too low. I have not seen them play, so I never make game predictions, but I think they have proven themselves worthy.

You really think there's 7 teams in KY better than Holmes? I highly doubt it. With or without the loss to Boone, they are a top 2-3 team in the state.

In every post you always have negativity towards Elliott County. :confused: It really doesn't matter because it is a forum and they are all opinions.

 

I didn't say anything bad. I said that the Ballard and Mason Co. wins along with the Shelby Valley loss gives everyone a much better example of what Elliott Co. is capable of.
